Abstract:
Locking mechanisms are provided for locking the position of a miter gauge assembly to a sliding table of a table saw. The mechanisms are biased to a locking position and this bias can provide a sensible indication that the lock has been engaged. The locking mechanisms are configured to engage the guide bar of the miter gauge assembly at different locations along the length of the guide bar, particularly by engaging a series of spaced apart engagement notches. The locking mechanism thus allows the miter gauge assembly to be locked at several positions along the length of the sliding table, from a fully inboard position to a position in which the miter gauge assembly projects beyond the end of the sliding table. The locking mechanism is provided in different embodiments with manually actuated components that can be push/pull, pivoting, rotating or sliding.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A tile cutter has a base (10) over which a guide fence (11:31) is slidably adjustable, opposite ends of the guide fence having a hook (18:44) and a clamp arrangement (20-22:34, 38) respectively for locking the guide fence in an adjusted position. The clamp arrangement is operated by pivoting a locking lever (19:47) to move a member (22:43) towards wings (20, 21:35, 36) of the guide fence to clamp an upstanding grip bar (15:59) at one side of the base between the member and the wings, further pivotal movement of the locking lever clamping the hook (18:44) to a lip (12:45) at the other side of the base and placing the lever in a "locked" position. The guide fence (11) can have a channel member (23) slidable along it, a protractor member (24) being pivotally mounted on the channel member and defining a right-angled recess to locate a tile (30) to be cut by cutting means (28). The protractor member can be angularly adjusted to alter the angle of the cut through the tile on the base, and clamped in its adjusted position by a bolt (26).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a protective device for circular saws which covers the saw blade (2) region projecting upwards over the workbench (4) with a protective hood (8). During sawing operations, the protective hood (8) is raised by the workpiece to be sawn and, at the end of the sawing operation, it is automatically lowered onto the workbench. On the workbench, a carrier hood (7) is disposed over and pivotably supports the protective hood (8). The carrier hood (7) is dimensioned such that the protective hood (8), raised by a workpiece, moves into the carrier hood (7).
Abstract:
The unitary pusher arms of the present invention may be easily and quickly changed out of a receptive base to accommodate different log saw configurations. The increased modularity is an improvement over prior art pusher arms, which are difficult to change and generally require the loosening and fastening of several different fasteners. Not only are the present arms easy to change out, they may also be color coordinated with different product types so that an operator may quickly and easily identify the appropriate size and shaped pusher to be used with a given product. These advantages improve operational efficiency, reduce the likelihood of mismatched pusher and log size, and increase operator safety.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a machine-tool, especially a circular saw bench. Said machine-tool comprises a clamping device (12, 19, 27) that can be moved with the workpiece (7) in an advancing direction (6) and is guided at a certain height in relation to the workbench (2). The clamping device is used to support the workpiece, in a carrying manner, in the region of the clamping device, in relation to the workbench (2).

Abstract:
The router table push shoe (10) of the present invention has an upwardly extending handle (11) which is angled slightly towards the operator and away from the router table fence (55). The push shoe of the present invention comes with an adjustable bottom guard (20) removably attached to the base (40), and an adjustable side guard (12) which can be removed and used as a bit height measuring tool. Both the bottom guard (20) and the side guard (12) are adjustable to enable the push shoe (10) to hold thin and narrow stock. The push shoe (10) also comes equipped with a miter bar (30). The horizontally adjustable bottom guard (20) is removably attached to the base (40) via a three wing knob (22). The push shoe also has formed in the front right corner a dovetail gauge (17) for making both male and female joints for sliding dovetail joints. All of these attachments allow the push shoe (10) to be used as a push shoe and also as a miter gauge, depth of bit height reference, a scale to check the distance from the router bit to the fence, and a gauge for making 1/2' sliding dovetail joints.
Abstract:
An adjustable miter gauge (100) for use with a table saw (10) includes a miter attachment (104, 26) and an adjustable guide bar coupled to the miter attachment (104, 26). The miter attachment (104, 26) rests on a working surface of the table saw (10). The guide bar is received in a slot (18) in the working surface. The guide bar includes a main body (120), which has first and second surfaces parallel to side walls of the slot (18), an adjustable body (124), which has a third surface parallel to the first surface, and a deformable biasing member (128). The adjustable body (124) is coupled to the main body (120) and slidable between a first position, wherein the second and third edge surfaces are coplanar, and a second position, wherein the second and third edge surfaces are not coplanar. The biasing member (128) is arranged between the main body (120) and the adjustable body (124) and biases the adjustable body (124) toward the second position.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide storage options for push-sticks used in connection with rip fences on table saws and similar cutting devices where push-sticks might be used. The push-stick storage system may include a rip fence and a push-stick retention mechanism. The push-stick retention mechanism may be defined by upright side walls that define a channel or slot therebetween for receiving a push-stick. The retention mechanism may also include a stop (or a stop block) positioned at a first position within the channel, and a retainer positioned at a second position within the channel.
