Abstract: A method of moulding articles from a concrete mixture. As shown in Fig 1, the water (12) is first poured into the mould (14, 14'), whereafter the dry cement mixture (2) is poured into the mould, soaking up the water. Another form of the invention is shown in Fig 2, where instead of pouring the water into the mould, the cement mixture (2) is moistened by water (1) sprayed into the dry mixture just before the mixture is poured into the mould. The invention is especially advantageous when mixtures containing fibres are used or when the articles are formed by centrifugal moulding.

Abstract: The invention relates to an installation for producing pipe elements by centrifugal casting, characterized in that it comprises a feed device (6) and modules (1 to 5). Each module comprises a rotationally mounted centrifugal casting mould (11 to 15) with drive mechanism (24, 25), heating and cooling units, sensors for monitoring speed and temperature and easily detachable connections for energy supply and control. Each module is provided with one or more elements (27) which can be engaged by a lifting device and is configured such that it can be lifted as a single piece and transported once all the connections have been released.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for placing ready-mixed concrete in a cylindrical form to fabricate an ultra-long and large-diametered hollow concrete cylinder by utilizing centrifugal force. It has been heretofore requested but difficult to employ stiff-consistency ready-mixed concrete for said purpose so as to increase the strength of the concrete product. In order to eliminate such a disadvantage, there are employed in the apparatus a float horizontally movable in a lengthwise direction in a cylindrical form, a vibrator provided on the float, and concrete inlet ports provided at a prescribed interval in the lengthwise direction on the cylindrical form. The method includes the steps of sequentially injecting stiff-consistency ready-mixed concrete through the concrete inlet ports and telescopically moving the float in the lengthwise direction while vibrating it, thereby filling the ready-mixed concrete in the cylindrical form to form a predetermined hollow space therein and thereafter making preparations to rotatably solidify the concrete. This makes it possible to rotatably solidify a long concrete article, which heretofore could not easily be produced by employing stiff-consistency ready-mixed concrete, and to obtain a high strength hollow concrete cylinder to be employed as a supporting leg for a submarine structure or the like.
