Abstract:
A tab member for use in a latchable slidable package. The tab member has opposed major faces connected by opposed side edges and comprises a body portion and a cut out defining a resiliently deformable latch member connected to the body portion by at least one live hinge. The latch member incorporates a latch formation that is moveable by a user in an unlatching direction substantially orthogonal to at least one side edge. The tab member is substantially planar, and the unlatching direction lies substantially in a plane of the tab member. The tab member can be incorporated into a latchable slidable package to provide child resistance by virtue of the latch member and the latch formation. The substantially planar nature of the tab member means that the tab member can be easily accommodated in the package. Because the unlatching direction of the latch formation lies substantially in a plane of the tab member, the movement of the latch formation as the package is unlatched is substantially restricted to the same plane. Thus, the volume of the package that must be given to accommodate the tab member and the movement of the latch formations can be kept low, thereby reducing the overall size and weight of the package.
Abstract:
A device for dispensing individual doses of powder from respective pockets of a disc-shaped carrier by outwardly rupturing a lidding foil by means of pressure on an opposite side surface, the device providing individual respective deaggregation flow paths for each pocket, split airstreams allowing improved entrainment of powder, a cam mechanism for outwardly rupturing the pockets, an indexing mechanism linked to the cam mechanism and a dose counter.
Abstract:
A lockable pill container is disclosed including a main body with a plurality of individual compartments for receiving pills. Each compartment has a lid member connected to the main body by a hinge permitting it to be moved between open and closed positions. Each lid member has a downwardly projecting hook member that projects through an opening in the main body when the lid is closed. An elongated locking member is laterally inserted into the main body and transversely moveable relative to the hook members between first and second positions. In the first position, the elongated locking member engages the hook members of those lid members that are closed to lock them in the closed position. In the second position, the elongated locking member does not engage the hook members which may be opened and closed without the locking function. The elongated locking member is normally biased into the locking position by a transverse member that includes a downwardly projecting, externally accessible transverse member. The transverse member is formed from resilient material, which normally biases the elongated locking member to its first or locking position. The user may press the transverse member and thus move the elongated locking member against the bias to the second or nonlocking position. The elongated locking member may be selectively removed from the pill container to render the locking feature inoperative if the pill container is used in an environment where locking is not necessary.
Abstract:
A method and a container for dispensing medicinal tablets, pills and the like where a container (1) having two or more tablet receiving and dispensing compartments (2) each having at least one aperture is covered by a sheet (12) or relatively thin tearable material such as paper and the like, the sheet of paper being arranged over the container (1) after having inserted the pills in the compartments (2). Thereafter the sheet of paper is held in place by a lid (5) having arms (6) that snap-engage with the edge of the container and hold the sheet of paper in place such that strips of paper may be removed between two adjacent arms to give access to the corresponding compartment for removal of the pills therein. The lid may be held in place over the sheet of paper by fixing means (11) cooperating with an aperture (4) in such a manner that the lid cannot be opened without damaging the fixing means (11) in the shape of a hook.
Abstract:
The single-dose sealed pack (1) with break opening comprising a first sheet (2) of semi-rigid, plastic material, a second sheet (3) of flexible plastic material associated with the first sheet (2), to define a sealed containment chamber (4) for containing at least a dose of a product, the first sheet (2) comprising at least a bearing layer (6) and at least a barrier layer (7), each of them having its own thickness, wherein the barrier layer (7) is arranged towards the outside of the chamber (4) with respect to the bearing layer (6); the single-dose pack (1) comprising at least a first cut (5a) defined at least on the inner face of the first sheet (2) to guide the breakage of the first sheet itself so as to determine the formation of an opening to allow the product to come out, the first cut (5a) comprising an individual rectilinear section defining the bending axis of the pack, the barrier layer (7) being of the isotropic and not perforated type and having a lower elongation at break than the maximum elongation applicable to it by the only thickness of the bearing layer (6) following the bending of the pack itself.
Abstract:
A product package includes a spine, a plurality of blister cards, and a coupler mechanism. Each blister card includes a plurality of individual cells. Each individual cell includes a blister for containing at least one product. The coupler mechanism is attached to the spine and re-attachably couples the plurality of blister cards within the product package.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A cover assembly for a medication dispenser (12) including a container defining a plurality of open-top medication compartments (28) adapted to be closed by a compartment cover assembly (10) including a plurality of individual covers (30) selectively connected together. Each cover includes an integral fracturable tab (48) depending from one end and coacting means on the container for securing the tabs in a snap-fit relationship when the cover is positioned to close its respective compartments. Each tab (48) is independently secured relative to the container and fractured from its respective cover in response to upward movement of the opposite end of the cover to open the compartment. In one embodiment, the tab has a plurality of spaced-apart openings (54) formed therein to create a weakened area to facilitate the separation of the cover from the tab. In another embodiment, a pair of notches (60, 62) extend into the sides of the tab. In another embodiment, which may be used with the other embodiments, a pair of spaced-apart protrusions (66, 68) extend from said tab for pivotal engagement with the dispenser.
