A method of controlling a washing machine includes (a) supplying water into a tub up to a first predetermined level, (b) rotating a basket so as to wash a filter provided between the tub and an opening formed in a lower portion of the basket by a water stream, (c) supplying water to elevate a level of water in the tub from the first predetermined level to a second predetermined level, and (d) rotating the basket to raise the water between the basket and the tub above the upper end of the basket by centrifugal force and to fall into the basket.

An automatic washing machine which can compress and de compress clothes during washing process comprises an enclosed support frame, a water tub mounted in the support frame, a cylindrical basket rotatably mounted in the water tub, a central shaft rotatably mounted in the cylindrical basket, variable speed drive motors connected to central shaft and cylindrical basket, shaft fins projecting radially outward from the central shaft and basket fins projecting radially inward towards the central shaft interposed between each other and a control panel equipped to rotate the interposed fins of the shaft and cylindrical basket independently or together at uniform or different speeds in the same or different directions in order to compress, de compress, agitate, hold and spin water soaked clothes to wash, rinse and dehydrate.

A clothes treating system includes a treating chamber for receiving clothes and a treating fluid therein, and a piston having a piston head. The piston can be adapted for reciprocating linear motion. Reciprocating motion of the piston head within the chamber agitates the clothes. An inner false wall can be contained within the chamber, and can have a corrugated surface providing frictional agitation of the clothes as the clothes are moved against the corrugated surface by the reciprocal motion of the piston head.

An agitator provided with a floating element with blades applied in a washing machine. The agitator of the type applied in clothes washing machines, preferentially with top load, conventionally provided with a water reservoir or tank, a perforated basket with pulsing/alternated spin movement, configuring the place where the clothes are accommodated; the agitator element is from type installed at the bottom of the basket and in the center of the same, and it can be followed by an accessory, provided with vertical blades, integrated to the pulsing rotating system of the basket, the referred floating element has a vertical displacement course foreseen between the internal face of the surface and the bumper ring appropriately fixed at the base of the tubular body for allowing the blades to adopt a projecting position in projection or a retracted position with regard to the surface based on the existence or not of water inside the reservoir/basket of the clothes washing machine.
