Abstract:
A paving block with a rubber piece made from, e.g., a used tire, for reducing echoes, noise, wear, icing on the block surface, adhering force of ice, shocks in collisions, etc. The block having high dimensional accuracy and comprising strong rubber piece that does not peel away for a log period is provided by a simple and low-cost method. The method is applied to provide diverse construction blocks to which materials, other than rubber, with various characteristics are attached. A square piece of rubber is cut off from a tire with non-uniform, uneven thickness caused by wear. This piece of rubber is made a surface layer piece (1) of a block, and asphalt that functions as a bonding portion (2) is applied to the back side of the surface layer piece (1). Concrete is placed directly on the asphalt as a curing body (3). The concrete placement thickness is adjusted so that the entire block has a predetermined thickness, and the concrete is cured. Using a holding arm (7), a net-like member (5), a separator (33), a joint (34), etc. can increase the strength of the block.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A paver may include a paver body and at least two slots running through the paver body from one side to another side. The slots may be parallel to an upper surface of the paver body. The slots further may be aligned according to the paver's orientation in a larger paver pattern such that, when multiple pavers are assembled according to the pattern, the slots of individual pavers cooperate to generate extended channels throughout the pattern. Thus, the principles of the present invention permit manufacturers to assemble paver mats made of a plurality of the pavers weaved together by a plurality of fastening cables that fit within one or more extended channels. In one embodiment, a core puller may be used to create slots in the paver body.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for a porous pavement system are described. The porous pavement system includes paver blocks designed to facilitate water seepage between the paver blocks and to permit water storage within the blocks. The paver blocks may be cabled together to create paving units that facilitate installation and maintenance of the pavement system. The porous pavement system provides improved management of stormwater, reducing runoff and facilitating infiltration of stormwater into the subgrade below the paving system.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A pre-fabricated concrete slab system and method have matching rectangular slabs with cooperatively fitting male and female type connectors (26, 32, 106, 118) which fit adjacent to each other in a checkerboard fashion. The slabs (10, 12, 100) include spaced reinforcing rods (18, 36, 102, 104) extending longitudinally and transversely therethrough. In at least some of the slabs, the rods' distal ends protrude outwardly away from one or more side edges of the slabs to form a plurality of male connectors (26, 106). Correspondingly, at least some of the slabs include a plurality of corresponding female sockets (32, 118) on one or more sides thereof, each female socket receiving a corresponding male connector when dropped therein. Through interconnection of corresponding female sockets and male connectors by steel reinforcing bars extending in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, a continuous tension reinforcement is established between adjacent slabs in both the longitudinal and transverse directions.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a plate arrangement, which is meant particularly for covering of ground with several stiff-structured plate units (1a) that are placed in connection with each other. The plate arrangement comprises an essentially uniform plate element (1) formed of the plate units (1a), which includes a binding assembly (2) with reinforced structure, such as a reinforced fabric, net or like, to which the plate units (1a) have been joined stationarily.
Abstract:
The application relates to a ground-engageable surface (10) comprising a plurality of structural elements (12) arranged a series of partially overlapping rows (26-46). The structural elements of one row (26) are connected to structural elements of an adjacent row (28) such that each row is pivotable about its connection. The pivotable connection is provided by means of an elongate cylindrical rod (29) which extends through aligned bores (14,18) in the structural elements. The surface (10) may be stored in a rolled-up configuration for ease of deployment over soft or unstable ground. The resilient nature of the surface (10) helps to maintain contact with the underlying terrain and spread applied loads evenly.
Abstract:
An interlocking construction block has opposed ends each having a plurality of substantially planar bearing surfaces. The planar surfaces include perpendicular surfaces joined by surfaces at obtuse angles. The block is arranged to be complementary to other blocks in several different configurations.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a road restoration block for covering eliminated pavements during various road constructions conducted by eliminating some of or the entire existing road pavements, and more specifically, to a road restoration block, which can quickly and safely cover the eliminated pavements by providing blocks that are simply carried, disposed, and disassembled with strong coupling power to the upper part of the eliminated pavements so that people and cars may pass even when the constructions are in progress, thereby providing a safe and pleasant construction environment by preventing the traffic congestion caused by the constructions. Further, the invention may maximize cost reduction for construction companies by preventing the increase of construction costs and waste of resources caused by temporary pavement works (provisional pavement works) that are currently in operation, and improve the construction quality and prevent poor construction. Consequently, the invention promotes reduction in the national budget, and is usable for emergent road restoration in case of national disaster and thus the safety and wealth of people can be protected.
