Abstract:
This invention relates to a connector for joining a first object to a second object. The connector includes a body portion, and a first connecting portion, located at, or towards, a first end of the body portion, and wherein the first connecting portion includes a single aperture through which a fastening device may be driven, in order to attach the first connecting portion to the first object. The connector also includes a second connecting portion, located at, or towards, a second end of the body portion, and wherein the second connecting portion includes a single aperture through which a fastening device may be driven, in order to attach the second connecting portion to the second object. The invention may be particularly suitable for joining timber framing.
Abstract:
A roof for a building comprises a ridge beam for defining an upper edge of the roof, and a first eaves beam for defining a lower edge of the roof. The roof further comprises a first panel connectable to both the ridge beam and the eaves beam, being capable of spanning the distance therebetween and extending over at least a first portion of the area of the roof. In addition, the roof comprises one or more retention structures positionable relative to the first panel and one of said beams and configured to clamp said panel against the other of said beams.
Abstract:
The invention provides apparatus suitable for moving a roof truss (8) along a pair of wall plates (14,16) comprising a pair of trolleys (20) in which each trolley (20) is comprised of a . body (22) and at least one roller means (24) in which each roller means (24) is attached to the body (22) and adapted to roll along a wall plate (14,16) and a portion of the body (22) is adapted to support an end (10,12) of a roof truss (8) when each roller means (22) is in contact with the wall plate (14,16).
Abstract:
A building comprising a roof construction (5), a wall construction (3) and a base construction has got the wall construction formed by a heat insulating layer (4) consisting of prefabricated wall elements comprising a foam plastic material. The wall construction additionally comprises an outer covering (12), which is implemented in a fire resistant material and is power-transmittingly connected, on one hand, to the roof construction and, on the other hand, to the base construction, said wall construction being strength-dimensioned to be capable of supporting the roof construction (5) relative to the base construction without assistance from the foam plastic material in the wall construction (3).
Abstract:
A connector means (10) embodying the concepts of the present invention is adapted to secure one or more roof panels (45) to a modular building structure (12). Broadly, such a connector means (10) has a horizontally disposed base (61) that is adapted to engage a supporting member incorporated in the modular building (12). An inclined, plate portion (65) is supported from the base (61). The plate portion (65) is adapted to receive, and support, a roof panel (45). A locking member (55, 98) frictionally secures each roof panel (45) to the inclined plate portion (65).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A modular building section defining the roof and opposing walls of a modular clearspan building. The building section includes a roof portion extending in a longitudinal direction between opposite first and second ends, and a pair of first and second legs, each leg pivotally attached about a pivot axis to the roof portion proximate a roof portion end. Each of the first and second legs has a stowed position in which the leg generally extends in the longitudinal direction and is in superposition with the roof portion, and an expanded position in which the leg depends from the roof portion and generally extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction. The legs are moveable independently of each other from their respective stowed positions to their respective expanded positions under the influence of gravity during lifting of the roof portion. Also disclosed are methods for constructing a modular clearspan building.
Abstract:
Modular wall panels and roof panels comprised of insulating material having reinforcing structural support members are attached together to create a building structure. The wall panels can include pitch blocks to provide pitched top edge surfaces on the wall panels that mate with recesses on the roof panels. Inner surfaces of the recesses can be selectively designed with different pitches to adjust pitch of the roof panels. Brackets can be provided within the recesses that have descending leg portions that are connectable to headers on the wall panels. The roof panels can also be connected to the wall panels without use of the recesses and the roof panels can substitute for floor panels. Methods for assembly are also provided.
Abstract:
A kit of connectors for assembling a structural beam of polygonal cross section using at least three sheet members comprises at least one fixed-angle connector for connecting two sheet members at a fixed relative angle, and at least two pairs of hingedly cooperative connectors. Each of said pairs is for connecting two sheet members at a variable relative angle, so as to enable completion of the polygonal cross section. A structural beam of polygonal cross section, for use as a roofing eaves beam and/or ridge beam, comprises at least three sheet members interconnected by the above kit of connectors.
