摘要: A roofing shingle is disclosed comprising a headlap portion with a nonstraight longitudinal edge defining headlap peaks and headlap valleys and a buttlap portion with a plurality of tabs extending from the headlap portion spaced apart by openings and a non-straight longitudinal edge defining buttlap peaks and buttlap valleys, wherein the nonstraight longitudinal edges do not shadow each other laterally across the shingle. Also disclosed is a roofing system comprising a plurality of courses of the shingle, wherein at least a portion of the headlap portion of the shingle from a subsequently installed course of shingles overlaps at least a portion of the headlap portion of a shingle from a previously installed course of shingles defining a headlap overlap region. The maximum headlap overlap dimension is beneath the headlap portion of a subsequently installed shingle laterally proximate the openings in the buttlap portion of the subsequently installed shingle.

摘要: A roof vent and a roof structure are described. A roof vent can include a baffle with a cross-section where a first portion extends upward from a bottom plate and a second portion extends from the first portion to define a space between the bottom plate and the second portion. A roof structure may or may not have a roof deck, and comprises a plurality of roof cover elements with a radiant barrier layer underneath the top surfaces of at least some of the roof cover elements. In another embodiment, a roof structure may comprise more sheathing layer vent members than roof cover layer vent members. In yet another embodiment, a roof structure may comprise a layer of roof tiles with at least one vent member, the vent member comprising lateral end portions of a base member with a non-planar profile to engage a similar profile of an adjacent roof cover element.

摘要: A building element (1) is disclosed which is formed with the same dimensions or appearance as. a standard building element. The building element (1) comprises at least one inlet opening (4) and at least one outlet opening (5) and a means for guiding a fluid from the inlet opening (4) to the outlet opening (5) along an inner surface of a heat transfer area (2) and thereby enabling the transfer of heat between the heat transfer area (2) and the fluid. The building element (1) enables the replacement of traditional building elements by elements which can be used for heating or cooling of specific building surfaces, thus permitting, or enhancing, heat transfer arrangements within a building.

摘要: A roofing shingle and a method of manufacturing a roofing shingle wherein the bottom surface of said shingle is provided with a release coating of a continuous film of particles having poor interlaminar strength due to the particles having good to perfect basal cleavage. The release coating significantly eases separation of roofing shingles that stick together when stacked during storage and transit in warm environments.

摘要: A shingle (20) is provided having a headlap section (32) and a buttlap section (34) with at least one portion of the buttlap section having a relatively uniform color and/or value and an adjacent portion of the buttlap section having a value gradation from light to dark. A plurality of horizontal striations (52, 54, 56) with transition stripes (152, 154) disposed between adjacent horizontal striations may be used to establish the desired value gradation. An illusion of depth or shingle thickness is created on the portion of the buttlap section having the value gradation. The buttlap section defines in part the exposed weather surface (42) of the associated shingle. The relatively uniform color and/or value portions may be formed on tabs or dragon teeth (36) and the value gradation formed on a backer sheet (50) disposed beneath the tabs. Openings (38) between tabs expose the enhanced value gradation to view.
