Abstract: An electric rim strike including a housing having a cavity defined therein; a pivotally rotatable keeper having a front blocking face; a pivotally rotatable locking bar having a rear blocking face; and an actuating mechanism that selectively pivots the locking bar. The keeper, locking bar, and actuating mechanism are disposed within the cavity of the housing. The actuating mechanism being operationally connected to the locking bar and driving the locking bar and the keeper from a first state to a second state. The rear blocking face of the locking bar opposes the front blocking face of the keeper to prevent the locking bar and keeper from freely rotating relative to each other.

Abstract: A motorized appliance latch provides for a spring-biased strike grip that can be engaged and disengaged from the strike with low force but then locked in a close position during closing of the door to allow the strike to be retained against countervailing gasket compression forces. In this way, an arbitrarily low force may be required by the consumer to close or open the door when the door is unsealed by the motor.

Abstract: An electromechanical lock includes a latching assembly (20) adapted to mount to a first structure and a catch piece (90) adapted to mount to a second structure wherein the latching assembly and the catch piece are positionable such that the catch piece can be docked in a receive state in the latching assembly. The latching assembly includes at least one latch element (60) movable between a capture state wherein the catch piece becomes mechanically engaged thereby and a release state wherein the catch piece is disengaged thereby. The latching assembly further includes an arming member (23) wherein in a first position, the arming member engages the latch element to maintain it in the release position; and a biasing element (84) associated with the arming member operative to urge the arming member into the first position.
