Abstract:
An inground isolator and associated method can provide an electrically isolated break in a drill string using electrical insulating members/isolators that are supported by a housing. During drill string operations, the isolators are subject to compressive forces responsive to both extension (pushing) and retraction (pulling) by the drill string. The isolators can be formed from an electrically insulating material such as a ceramic material. An interchangeable inground tool system is described which integrally serves to provide an electrically isolating gap in the drill string.

A device for the making of holes or demolition in concrete comprises a machining tool (2) and a jib construction (1) carried by a carrier (6) which construction comprises an inner jib (20) and an outer jib (21). The inner jib (20) is articulatedly connected to a vertical shaft (24) and may be raised and lowered by means of a first hydraulic cylinder (29). By means of a second hydraulic cylinder (30), the outer jib (21) may be tilted in relation to the inner jib. A third hydraulic cylinder (31) may tilt an anchor plate (26) on which the machining tool (2) is detachably mounted. As a machining tool, a hewing machine may be used, the vibrations of which are transferred to the device without direct contact with any person. Furthermore, the device is easy and compact, and therefore it may be used in narrow spaces.

An apparatus for excavation of earth around a pole embedded in an earth surface comprises a hollow auger (19) in the form of a cylindrical drum (21) with a helical flight (22) about the outer wall thereof. The hollow auger (19) is constructed in two halves to enable movement between an open position and a closed position embracing the pole. The hollow auger (19) is rotatably journalled in a support frame (15) and is driven by a drive motor (20) engaging a spur gear (26) around the upper position of the auger (19). The support frame (15) is slidably mounted on a frame (10) to enable extension and retraction of the auger (19).
Abstract:
An isolator for a drill assembly that is mountable to a drill is presented. The isolator comprises an elongated outer member with an elongated inner member inserted within the outer member. An elastomer is interposed in the space between said inner member and said outer member. The isolator is connectable to a drill assembly at one end through the outer member and at the other end through the inner member. The isolator is capable of providing sound and vibration isolation when the drill assembly is mounted to a drill.
