Abstract:
An extendable rotor arm (23) for a mining machine. The rotor arm rotates about an axis parallel to the direction of machine motion, and has an extendable portion (35) which extends perpendicular to the axis of rotation to vary the width of mining. The extendable portion is mounted on a shaft (31) and is fastened with keys (49) to prevent rotation and a sleeve (33) to reduce wear to the shaft.
Abstract:
A heading machine includes first and second rotating cutting heads having respectively an axis of rotation extending substantially in a longitudinal direction of the machine, a first cutting roller having an axis of rotation extending substantially horizontal and transverse to the longitudinal direction of the machine, and a further cutting device supported on the cutting frame and adapted to cut off the cusps of unmined material left on side wall. The machine further includes a side stabilizer, and can cut a rectangular profile without leaving cusps left on the side wall.
Abstract:
A cutting assembly for a rock excavation machine including a frame. The cutting assembly includes a boom supported on the frame and a cutting device. In some aspects, the boom includes a first portion and a second portion, and the first portion includes a first structure and a second structure slidable relative to the first structure. The second portion includes a first member pivotably coupled to the second structure, and a second member pivotably coupled to the first member. The cutting device is supported on the second member. In some aspects, a material handling device is supported independently of the boom and movable between a retracted position and an extended position independent of the boom.
