Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Pumpenanordnung mit einer ersten Flüssigkeitspumpeneinheit, die ein in einem ersten Pumpengehäusehohlraum rotierbares erstes Laufrad aufweist, und einer der ersten Flüssigkeitspumpeneinheit in Flüssigkeitsförderrichtung der Pumpenanordnung nachgeordneten, einen zweiten Flüssigkeitsdruck, der höher als der erste Flüssigkeitsdruck ist, erzeugenden zweiten Flüssigkeitspumpenein-heit, die ein in einem zweiten Pumpengehäusehohlraum rotierbares zweites Laufrad aufweist, wobei ein Druckausgang der ersten Flüssigkeitspumpeneinheit mit der zweiten Flüssigkeitspumpeneinheit über wenigstens eine Verbindung verbunden ist. Um eine solche Pumpenanordnung mit einem kompakten Aufbau zur Verfügung zu stellen, in welcher die zweite Flüssigkeitspumpeneinheit zuverlässig vor einem Eindringen von Schmutz geschützt ist, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass zwischen wenigstens einer feststehenden Innenwand des ersten Pumpengehäusehohlraumes und dem ersten Laufrad wenigstens ein äußerer Spalt zwischen der Innenwand und dem ersten Laufrad ausgebildet ist, wobei die Verbindung durch wenigstens einen in der Flüssigkeitsförderrichtung nach dem äußeren Spalt vorgesehenen, zwischen dem ersten Pumpengehäusehohlraum und dem zweiten Pumpengehäusehohlraum verlaufenden Verbindungskanal ausgebildet ist.

The liquid can be water from the body of water (104). In this instance a portion of the water at the first outlet can be diverted to the second outlet arrangement. But alternately liquid can be sourced externally from the body of water (104).
