Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of weapon launching technology, particularly to provide a device for launching warheads at high velocity. Said device includes a flywheel (1), a bearing, a base (19), an energy source unit and a control system. The rim (20) of the flywheel (1) is provided with chambers (3) for loading warheads (2), the flywheel (1) during its rotation process can launch warheads (2) through the chambers (3), the bearing is used to support the rotation of the flywheel (1), the base (19) is used to support the bearing and flywheel (1), the energy source unit is used to drive the flywheel (1) to rotate and recover the rotational kinetic energy of the flywheel (1), the control system is used to control each part of the device to collaboratively work. The invention also relates to a method for launching warheads at high velocity.
Abstract:
A ball launcher (100) includes a base (102) and a thrower arm (108) defining a ball cradle (110). An arm holder ( 106) is disposed on the base and pivotally supports the thrower arm about a first axis of rotation (R X ). A rotating shaft (15) defines a second axis of rotation (R Y ) substantially parallel to a fore-aft axis (X) of the base. A ball loader (130) is coupled to the rotating shaft (150) for common rotation about the second axis of rotation, the ball loader defining a ball receptacle (132). A loader arm (160) is releasably connected to the rotating shaft for common rotation about the second axis of rotation. The loader arm defines a longitudinal axis (X arm ) substantially perpendicular to the second axis of rotation and has a length (L arm ) extending away from the rotating shaft.
Abstract:
A sling like apparatus comprising a release cord, retention cord, finger loop, release tab, guide assembly, and basket creates a throwing device that is simple to reset, reload and throw while still retaining the power and accuracy of a traditional sling, thus making it user-friendly for anyone to quickly learn and operate. The retention cord comprises a comfortable finger loop that forks about half way in length into two cords that are each attached to specific and unique locations on the basket. The basket deforms into a form fitting structure that secures around a circular object or ball. The release cord is attached to a particular location on the basket and is fed through a guide assembly. The end of the release cord connects to the release tab.
Abstract:
A device for launching an object which includes a flexible shaft having a distal end and a proximal end and a handle located at the proximal end sized to enable a user to grip the device while launching an object. An object gripping claw is located at the distal end of the flexible shaft, the gripping claw including first and second flanges which together define a capture volume for an object, the first flange being a stationary post and the second flange being a flexible web extending from the flexible shaft, the second flange being sufficiently flexible to deform in retaining an object within the capture volume and to release an object for launching when the flexible shaft is swung in a forward circular path.
Abstract:
Gyration induced acceleration of a mass is modified by inserting changes in the pathway of a mass under the influence of gyration force resulting in an acceleration to re-phase after the phase disruption.
Abstract:
An apparatus for moving a mass, the apparatus having an arcuate track, a clamping member attached to a section of the arcuate track, an arm assembly pivotably connected to the clamping member, and a counterweight connected to the arm assembly. A projectile for use in a mass accelerator having an arcuate track, the projectile having a core and at least one of a low-friction layer, a propellant layer, and a polycarbonate layer.
Abstract:
An apparatus for firing projectiles including a feeding mechanism adapted to feed projectiles into rotating arms rotating around an axis within a guide wall. The wall includes an opening through which the projectile are expelled due to the rotation of the arms. Strikers attached to each arm are so positioned so that they strike the projectile that has been expelled through the guide accelerating the projectile.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and systems are presented for accelerating a projectile or mass about an arcuate track for launching the projectile or mass or generating energy. One example implementation presents an apparatus for accelerating a mass received therein, which includes a gyration assembly, a controller operably coupled to the gyration assembly for controlling gyration of the gyration assembly, and an arcuate track operatively coupled to the gyration assembly. Another variation provides an apparatus for energy production, the apparatus including an accelerator component for accelerating and directing a mass for impact use in generating energy, including a first chamber portion containing a first fuel component for initial high energy production, and a second chamber portion containing a second fuel component and configured to generate increased energy from impact of the initial high energy generation production of the first chamber portion.
Abstract:
Abstract:
This invention is a system and subsystem for neutralizing buried mines and includes novel munitions and munition launchers. There is a combination of at least one mine detector, a launcher, and complementary top-attack munition that allows the munition to be dispersed over target mines. On detonation, the munition has sufficient explosive power to penetrate overburden and destroy or otherwise neutralize the target mines.
