Abstract:
An imaging device (100,500) comprises: - an anamorphic unit (10) to form a virtual image (VMG1) of a cylindrical viewing region (SRF1), and - a focusing unit (20) to form a real image (IMG1) of the auxiliary virtual image (VMG1), wherein the anamorphic unit (10) comprises two or more refractive lenses (LNS11, LNS12) which have been selected such that the horizontal refractive power (P x,C ) of the imaging device (100) is greater than 1.5 times the vertical refractive power (P y,C ) of the imaging device (100), and the anamorphic unit (10) is arranged to form the virtual image (VMG1) by refracting light (B0 k ) received from the cylindrical viewing region (SRF1) such that the aspect ratio(Δϕ/ΔΦ) of the virtual image (VMG1) is lower than the aspect ratio (Δϕ'/ΔΦ') of the viewing region (SRF1).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention provides new projection schemes for wide angle imaging lenses ro- tationally symmetric about optical axis wherein the field of view of lenses and the size of image sensors are directly reflected without any reference to the effective focal length of the lenses. This invention also provides explicit examples of wide-angle lenses implementing the newly developed projection schemes. According to the present invention, by providing new projection schemes explicitly reflecting the physical quantities of direct interest to the user for industrial applicability, namely, the field of view and the image sensor size, it is possible to realize wide- angle lenses providing the most satisfactory images.
Abstract:
Micro-electromechanical light modulators are combined with anamorphic and contrast enhancing optical elements to form optical display engines. Linear MEMS arrays are suitable for the étendue of low divergence light sources while handling high optical power for brightness. The output of an optical engine is a line image which may be scanned to form a two-dimensional image.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for optically enhancing graphical data such as seismic traces to assist in visual interpretation of such data, including an anamorphotic optical system (13) of lenses, prisms or mirrors to enable reproduction on photographic film (14) of a reduced image of graphical data on computer printout (8), the reduced image having reduction in the X axis different from the reduction in the Y axis. The image so produced selectively condenses the graphical data in one or more axes to visually enhance features contained in the data. Instead of an anamorphotic optical system, a video camera and magnetic tape can be used to record an image which can be later viewed with reduced dimensions.
Abstract:
An optical device which is used to take, projector enlarge a wide screen system picture. An object of the present invention is to provide an optical device which is small in size and light in weight, and simple in its assembling. There are provided optical plastic cylindrical lens systems (1), (2) which are composed of front lens group of focal length fA and rear lens group of focal lenghts fB, in front of a master lens (3) of focal length fM so as to satisfy the relationship of formula (FORMULA) Thus, it is possible that the rear lens group (2) and the master lens (3) are located in close proximity to each other and have substantially the same diameter. Further, projections (9), (10), (14), (16) and recesses (8), (20), (21), (15) are formed at the frame formed integrally with the cylindrical lens systems and at the edge of a lens barrel (17), whereby, the buses of the cylindrical lens systems (1), (2) are determined by fitting the projections to the associated recesses.
