The invention provides a laser illumination system comprising first and second arrays of laser light sources each with an associated array of reflectors. The light sources of the two arrays have a different output wavelength and the output of each laser light source of the first array is combined with the output of a corresponding laser light source of the second array to form a coaxial combined beam.
