Disclosed is a keyless system for operating and accessing a vehicle such as an automobile, truck, minivan, bus, airplane, train, boat, etc. Preferably, the user's fingerprint is his or her " right of passage " into the vehicle. The system includes fingerprint triggered access to the physical inside space of a vehicle and along with other commands, preferably voice activated and/or card/card reader, control the vehicle's various systems. The system is designed to perform optimally in less than perfect environmental conditions and is preferably provided with its own source of energy. The system also includes a controller (2) and interface in communication with a fingerprint sensor.
Abstract:
A system for providing access to a PLC controlled subcomponent of an automation system. The system comprises a biometric identification device coupled to an I/O device of the automation system. The I/O device is configured to process input from the biometric identification device and provide an identification code for a user of the biometric identification device. The system further comprises a PLC based server configured to receive the identification code generated by the I/O device and process the identification code to determine whether to provide access to a PLC controlled subcomponent of the automation system to the user.

Fingerprint sequences may then be used to control the operation of devices, such as restricting content, or encrypting communications.

The invention relates to a security device and to the operating method thereof. According to the invention, the security device comprises an input (IN) and an output (OUT), and a line for controlling a device that is to be secured is connected to the output. The inventive device also comprises means for acquiring identification data (1) and management means (2). The aforementioned management means comprise means for storing authorised identification data (3) and processing means (4) which generate an identification signal when a successful comparison is made between an acquired identification datum and a stored identification datum. The management means are connected to control means (6) which produce an output signal (S0, , Sm) on the control line. The invention is characterised in that an input line is connected to the input and an input signal (E0, , En) travels over said line. The invention is further characterised in that the above-mentioned control means control the state of the output signal according to: (i) the input signal, and (ii) the identification signal.

Technologies for bio-chemically controlling operation of a machine include applying a bio-chemical agent to an operator of the machine and controlling an operational characteristic of the machine based on the presence of the bio-chemical agent on the operator. The operational characteristic of the machine may be controlled based on the presence or lack of the biochemical agent on the operator. In some embodiments, the bio-chemical agent may be configured to generate a bio-chemical trigger in response to exposure to a biochemical or biological characteristic of the operator. The operation of the machine may be controlled based on such bio-chemical trigger or reaction.

The invention described herein generally pertains to a system (100, 300, 400, 500, 700, 800, 900, 1000) and method for evaluating one or more conditions or preliminary weld condition related to a welding system (100, 300, 400, 500, 700, 800, 900, 1000 and/or method that utilizes a welding sequence to perform two or more welds with respective welding schedules. In an embodiment, an operator registration is provided that verifies the operator and identifies welding sequences to which the operator is authorized to perform. In another embodiment, one or more fixture locations are monitored to determine whether a workpiece (440, 808, 1006) is accurately configured prior to a welding operation. In still another embodiment, locations on a workpiece (440, 808, 1006) can be displayed to assist an operator in performing two or more welds utilizing a welding sequence. Moreover, a wireless system communications a data signal to a welding work cell in which such data is used to identify a welding sequence.
