Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for fulfilling an online order. The systems and methods include identifying a product and a delivery destination in an online order, identifying at least one distribution center and retail store having the product within a defined radius from the delivery destination, determining a cost for each of the distribution center and retail store to fulfill the online order, and selecting one of the distribution center and retail to fulfill the online order. The cost for filling the online order can be based one or more of a shipping cost for delivery of the product to the delivery destination, a replenishment cost for replenishing the distribution center and retail store with the product a lost sales cost for the distribution center and retail store to ship the product.
Abstract:
A system for facilitating multi-modal freight transactions comprises a shipper portal for receiving a shipper input, a carrier portal for receiving a plurality of carrier inputs, a database storing information from the carrier inputs and the shipper input, and a processor configured to select and combine information from the plurality of carrier inputs within the database in response to the shipper input to generate a shipper output. The shipper output comprises a comparison of rates from carriers of all sizes and one of more options for freight transportation, the one or more options being selectable by the shipper for automatically booking freight transportation at a fixed cost.
Abstract:
A computer system for defining attributes associated with attended delivery/pickup locations is described. In various embodiments, the system is configured to enable an authorized user to define certain attributes of a particular attended delivery/pickup location. In some embodiments, the system is configured to verify that the particular user is authorized to define the one or more attributes associated with the particular attended delivery/pickup location. The attributes may be: 1 ) one or more times the particular attended delivery/pickup location is open for individuals to pick up a parcel; and 2) a certain product and/or brand the particular attended delivery location will accept. Once the one or more attributes are defined; in one or more embodiments, the system is configured to accept or reject parcel delivery requests based at least in part on the attributes.
Abstract:
A system and method for locating nearby attended delivery/pickup locations with a particular item in stock is described. The system receives a request from an individual to purchase a particular item from an on-line retailer. The system receives information associated with attended delivery/pickup locations, including location and inventory information. The system then determines which (if any) attended delivery/pickup locations (e.g., the attended delivery/pickup locations are not the on-line retailer) are near the individual and have the particular item in stock and notifies the individual. In various embodiments, the system enables the user to purchase or reserve the particular item at the particular attended delivery/pickup location.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of the invention may reduce the amount of time a consumer spends coordinating a move. A system is provided which may guide the consumer through the process of planning the move, including developing an inventory of items to be transported. Based on the consumer's plan, quotes for the move may be provided from multiple movers, and each quote may be an exact price that a mover will charge, rather than merely an estimate. To enable movers to provide exact quotes, some embodiments of the invention implement a standard pricing methodology. The system may allow movers to define pricing information in accordance with the methodology, and this information may be used to calculate a quote for a move when a consumer requests one.
Abstract:
System, methods, and computer program products are provided for enhanced freight tracking and monitoring. The system may track the location of a freight shipment within a carrier's transportation network from the time it is picked up by a carrier from a consignor until it is delivered to a consignee, provide for weight determinations and shipping re-classifications of the freight shipment during transport, and provide real-time status information and reports to the carrier, consignor, and/or consignee.
Abstract:
A system and method in which a buyer registers for a buyer's shipping account and uses the shipping account to pay shipping costs associated with purchases made over the Internet. When a buyer purchases merchandise over the Internet from either a retailer's website or from an individual through an online auction, the buyer is capable of controlling the shipping process by logging on to their buyer's shipping account. Among other things, the buyer can use their shipping account to select the desired type of shipping service (overnight air or ground) and populate a shipping label with shipping information such as delivery address, return address, and preferred delivery time windows. Once the shipping label has been populated and verified, the shipping label is electronically transferred to the seller for use in shipping the package. The system and methods of the present invention allow the buyer greater control over the shipping process. In many cases, the present invention will also help buyers/receivers control costs by eliminating the shipper's shipping and handling fee.
Abstract:
A data processing system (X) is adapted to confront an offer (O) and a demand (D), in particular in the field of transportation of travelers or goods. The system (X) receives requests corresponding to new offers/demands, formulated by users (Cx) of the data processing system and data corresponding to offers/demands not yet satisfied from a plurality of secondary data processing servers (A, B, C, E) themselves adapted to confront an offer and a demand. After receiving a request corresponding to a new offer/demand formulated by a user (Cx) of the data processing system (X), the system (X) verifies if there is an offer/demand (OA, DA, OB, DB, OC, DC, OB, DB) not yet satisfied, received from a secondary data processing server (A, B, C, E) or transmitted previously by a user of the data processing system, that can respond to the request. If not, the system (X) stores the request in the data processing system and/or sends data corresponding to the new request to at least one of the secondary data processing servers (A, B, C, E) to enable confrontation with an offer/demand responding to the new request received subsequently by the secondary data processing server (A, B, C, E).
Abstract:
Abstract:
An order for telecommunications services is received comprising order parameters including a CPE device configuration request for a customer network. A warehouse is selected as a staging location based upon the order parameters, available inventory of the CPE device, and shipping information from the warehouse to the customer network. A bay of a rack at the staging location is selected to stage a CPE device that matches the specifications of the CPE device configuration request. The CPE device is validated by verifying hardware of the CPE device and whether the CPE device is loaded with certain predetermined software. A configuration is executed to the CPE device to provide the telecommunication services according to the order parameters. The configuration is saved and the CPE device is prepared for installation at a customer location. The CPE device may be shipped to the customer network using the order parameters and shipping information.
