Abstract:
A tape reel allowing the reliability of a magnetic tape running at a high speed to increase and a tape cartridge having the tape reel, the tape reel wherein an annular chucking gear 152b formed at the lower surface center part of the lower side flange part 152 of the tape reel 150 is formed of vertical wall surfaces to suppress the idle rotation and rise of the tape reel, whereby the running stability and straight forward running capability of the magnetic tape when the tape reel 150 is rotated at a high speed can be assured, and the reliability of the tape cartridge in high speed operation can be increased.
Abstract:
A limited use tape cassette comprising a housing (2) enclosing a tape spooled to pass from a rotatable supply reel (4) to a rotatable take-up reel (6) during tape play, and from the take-up reel (6) to the supply reel (4) during tape rewind. A follower arm (32) is pivotally mounted on the housing (2) and is biased to engage spooled tape on the one of the reels, preferably the supply reel. An erase arm (46) is pivotally mounted on the housing and is movably and releasably connected to the follower arm (32). The erase arm (46) has an erase head (50) thereon and is biased toward the take-up reel (6). Upon predetermined movement of the follower are (32) which results from predetermined tape movement between the reels, the erase arm (46) is released from the follower arm (32) to move the erase head (50) into engagement with the tape on the take-up reel (6) to erase it as it is being rewound onto the supply reel (4). After the erased tape is rewound onto the supply reel (4) the erase arm (46) moves the erase head (50) to an inoperative position to enable the erased tape to be reused.
Abstract:
In a recording and/or reproducing apparatus (1) having a reel drive device (35) with a drive shaft (46A) and with a disc-shaped drive member (47) made of a plastic and with drive teeth (48), and with a second magnetic circuit element (49), and with a third magnetic circuit element (50), which is connected to the drive member (47) by insert-molding of the third magnetic circuit element (50), the drive shaft (46A) is connected directly to the third magnetic circuit element (50) in a rotationally interlocked manner and the third magnetic circuit element (50) is formed by an element which is finished by means of a turning operation, and the third magnetic circuit element (50) is dimensioned in such a manner with respect to the drive member (47) that the third magnetic circuit element (50) is not subjected to any deformation by the drive member (47) made by insert-molding.
Abstract:
The self-centering tape reel for a single reel tape cartridge provides a magnetic tape reel that is equipped with one or more features to center the tape reel with respect to a rotatably driven feature, such as a drive chuck, in the tape drive that rotates the tape reel. The self-centering tape reel uses a chamfered ring that encircles the drive teeth formed on the tape reel that engage the drive chuck. The chamfered ring fits into a chamfer that is formed in the circumference of the spline access hole located in the bottom of the tape cartridge housing.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The single reel tape cartridge with tape reel centering features provides mechanical positioning and centering of the tape reel with respect to the drive chuck of the tape drive when the tape cartridge is in any orientation. This constrains lateral movement of the tape reel to prevent the tape reel from contacting the interior surfaces of the tape cartridge housing. This is accomplished by seating the spring, that applies a bias force to press the tape reel against the drive chuck, in a spring sleeve that is formed in the center of the interior surface of the top section of the tape cartridge housing.
