    摘要: A system and method for detecting donning and doffing of an electronic device includes a capacitive sensor configured to generate a capacitance signal based on a capacitance measured by the sensor. The method also includes generating an average capacitance signal by averaging the capacitance signal over a period of time, and generating an intermediate signal based on a difference between the capacitance signal and the average capacitance signal. The method also includes generating a don or doff signal and setting the average capacitance signal to be equal to the capacitance signal when the don or doff signal is generated. The don signal is generated subsequent to the electronic device changing state from a doffed state to a donned state. The doff signal is generated subsequent to the electronic device changing state from a donned state to a doffed state.

    摘要: Acoustic noise reduction (ANR) headphones described herein have current detection circuitry that is used to detect current consumed by ANR circuitry as a result of pressure changes due to a tapping of a headphone, ear or head of a user. Tapping may be performed to change an audio feature or operating mode. The current detection circuitry senses a characteristic of the current that can be used to determine an occurrence of a tap event. Examples of a characteristic include an amplitude, waveform or duration of the sensed current. Advantageously, the ANR headphones avoid the need for control buttons to initiate the desired changes to the audio feature or operating mode. Error detection circuitry included in the ANR headphones can distinguish between a valid tap events and an occurrence of a different type of event that may otherwise be improperly be interpreted as a tap event.

The hearing device can include a housing, a user sensory interface connected to the housing, an image sensor connected to the housing, and an acoustic sensor connected to the housing. The device can also include a processor that is adapted to process image data from the image sensor to identify an image object, process acoustic data from the acoustic sensor, and determine a spatial location of the image object based upon at least one of the processed image data and the processed acoustic data. The processor can also be adapted to provide the spatial location to the user sensory interface, which can provide a sensory stimulus to the user that is representative of the spatial location of the image object.

The pendant, in embodiments, houses a battery which powers the earphones. When detached, the chain is an open loop, with an earphone at each end. A joint between the earphones and wire /chain allows the earphones to swivel with respect to the wire /chain.
