Abstract: The present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner and a secondary handle for a vacuum cleaner. The invention is especially suited for use with any type of handheld vacuum cleaner. The invention provides a vacuum cleaner comprising: a body portion including a first handle that is shaped and arranged for manual contact by an operator in use, a second handle that is shaped and arranged for manual contact by an operator in use, and an attachment means coupled to at least one of the body portion and/or the second handle, wherein the attachment means is operable to enable selective attachment of the second handle and the first handle. In an attached configuration in which the second handle and the first handle are attached via the attachment means, an engagement axis associated with the second handle may be angled relative to an engagement axis associated with the first handle. The detachable secondary handle can enhance ergonomics and versatility of use for an operator of the vacuum cleaner.
