Abstract: A method of manufacturing a device (50) for insertion into a vaginal or rectal cavity. The method comprises providing a plug (52) configured to be worn inside the cavity, and providing a protective sheath (56) configured to accommodate at least part of the plug (52). The method then comprises heat sealing at least part of the protective sheath (56) to a first end of the plug (52) by at least one of: heat sealing at a temperature of between 100 and 200°C, heat sealing at a pressure of between 3 and 7 bar, and heat sealing for a duration of between 0.5 and 4 seconds.
