摘要: The invention relates to a method for enhancing ultraviolet light in an anti-pathogen UV respiratory mask. The UV enhancing method involves at least one ultraviolet light-emitting diode and a flow chamber coated with ultraviolet reflecting materials or fabricated from ultraviolet reflecting materials such as ePTFE (expanded polytetrafluorethylene), Aluminum, in a UV respiratory mask. At least one ultraviolet LED or any miniature-size UV light source, is located inside the UV reflecting chamber such that ultraviolet light is reflected back from the reflecting walls of the flow chamber and bounces back and forth as much as possible. When the ultraviolet light is bouncing back and forth in the reflecting chamber, its intensity increases several times. ePTFE has an ultraviolet reflection coefficient of about 95% and can enhance ultraviolet light 20 times. Aluminum has an ultraviolet reflection coefficient of about 80%, hence can enhance ultraviolet light inside the flow chamber 5 times. Particulate filters such as HEPA filters can be added to the respiratory mask to filter out air suspended particulates as well.

A filter of the disinfection apparatus is configured to filter the fluid flow. A body of the disinfection apparatus defines a tortuous flow path delineating at least two turns such that the fluid flow changes direction at least twice as the fluid flow proceeds through the tortuous flow path.

摘要: In examples, a material, such as raw or processed grain, may be dispensed (e.g., by a vibratory feeder) and charge associated therewith may be neutralized (e.g., by an ion generator). The material may then be suspended within a fluid flow. The fluid flow may pass through a treatment chamber, where material suspended therein is exposed to one or more light sources. The light sources may emit UVB, UVC, and/or VUV light, which may have germicidal and/or photocatalytic effects. In some examples, the flow is carried through the treatment chamber by a quartz tube, which may be doped or the interior of which may be coated by titanium dioxide. As an example, when the titanium dioxide is exposed to the UVB light, an oxidation reaction may occur, which may have germicidal, cleaning, and/or odor-reducing effects, among other examples. The treated material may ultimately settle out of the flow and be collected.
