Abstract:
Indirect extrusion process for a metal billet. In indirect extrusion by a free die process, a surface skin of the billet is removed simultaneously with the extrusion process by using a two stage die (8), so that the container cleaning cycle after extrusion becomes unnecessary. A shear support (3) is provided fixed separately from said container (2) on the extrusion ram (4) side, and after the extrusion cycle is complete, a shear (shearing device) (14) or said shear support (3) shears off and removes a discard unitarily and tightly stuck in said die (8). This method can shorten the extrusion cycle, and damage to essential parts of the extrusion machines can be avoided.
Abstract:
A heat transfer roll (30) for producing sheet material, particularly material having a cross-section whose thickness varies across the width of a sheet being formed, includes a journal (32) on which the roll (30) its rotatably supported, and at least two cooling channels (112, 114) at the surface of the roll (30) that can be supplied with various fluids at various flow rates and temperatures. Fluid in the first and second channels flows at predetermined longitudinal positions at the roll surface (102). The first channel includes cylindrical spiral portions and the second channel includes a circular cylindrical channel located between the spiral portions (112, 114). A diverter (110) provides hydraulic flow continuity across the second flow channel to first and second portions of the first flow channel. Risers carry fluid radially outward to the flow channels at the outer surface of the roll.
Abstract:
This invention relates to the extru-bending machine that can bend product by extruding two or more hot metal billets with the machine which consists of an extrusion die holder equipped with conical dies, container holder heating the two or more-holed container with conical plug, two or more extrusion stems, hydraulic power system unit, relative velocity control unit, and support frame structure. It is characterized that, when two or more hot metal billets are welded together inside a conical die cavity and extruded to one product at the die exit, the extru-bending machine can bend the extruded part simultaneously during extruding with the gradient of extrusion velocities on the die exit owing to the relative moving velocitiy of two or more extrusion stems. And it is possible to manufacture curved metal rods or tubes by the extru-bending machine without defects such as wrinkling and folding on the surface, distortion in the section, and thickness change in the wall.
