Abstract:
A socket tool (20) has an elongated body (21) with driving and driven inserts, respectively, embedded in the opposite ends thereof, the inserts being flush with or recessed inwardly from the ends of the body. Metal or non-metallic annular reinforcing members encircle at least one of the inserts. In one embodiment the reinforcement is a non-metallic sleeve (25) which encircles the body along its entire length, and which may have end flanges (53) overlapping the ends of the body.
Abstract:
A high-torque fastener having a threaded shaft and a star-shaped head is disclosed. The high-torque fastener is made of a resorbable or other non-magnetic material. A mating driver snugly fits around the star-shaped head of the fastener, to thereby apply torque to the perimeter of the star-shaped head. The driver can be made disposable, and the driver and fastener packaged together in a single, disposable assembly. Additionally, the driver can be color coded to indicate the size of the fastener which is pre-attached to the driver in the packaging.
Abstract:
Polygonal wrench with a gripping part bounded by a groove (3), whereby the gripping part can be adapted to the required tightening moment by varying the height of the gripping part and the degree of inclination of upper part (2) depends on the design of groove (3).
Abstract:
A multiple use wrench for use with a hex shaped head with equal hex head sides of a first predetermined length and a square shaped head with equal square head sides of a second predetermined length, where the distance between parallel sides of both heads is equal, including a handle (12) a drive end (11) attached at one end of the handle, the drive end having a portion suitable for driving both heads which include seven adjacent sides which are connected in order from a first side to a seventh side, the first side (21) having a length suitable for driving the square shaped head, the second side (22) adjacent to the first side (21) and having a length less than the length of a hex head side, the third and fourth sides (23, 24) adjacent to the second and third sides (22, 23), respectively forming an angle of substantially 120o therewith, and having a length substantially equal to the length of a hex head side, the fifth side (25) forming an angle of substantially 120o with the fourth side (24) and being substantially parallel to the second side (22), and having a length greater than or equal to the length of a hex head side plus the length of the second side (22), the sixth side (26) forming an angle of substantially 120o with the fifth side (25) and being substantially parallel to the third (23), and the seventh side (27) being substantially parallel to the first side (21), having a length equal to or greater than the length of the hex head sides and being displaced from the first side (21) by a distance substantially equal to the distance between parallel sides of the square shaped head.
Abstract:
A universal hubcap wrench capable of providing better leverage and greater torque during removal and/or replacement process of hubcaps while additionally being capable of operating on a variety of hubcaps of different shapes and sizes. In one embodiment, the universal hubcap wrench comprises a unibody piece and, optionally, one or more inserts, wherein the unibody piece comprises a head portion with a central hole and one or more arms angled relative to the head portion, and wherein the one or more inserts are disposed within the central hole to manipulate the size and/or shape of the central hole and allow acceptance of variously sized and shaped hubcaps.
Abstract:
The inventions relates to a tool (10) that is adapted to loosen or fasten connector nuts located in areas of reduced space. The tool (10) is particularly useful because it allows manipulating basin nuts (40) located between the lower portion of the basing and piping that provides water to the faucets that are attached to the basin via the nut. The tool comprising a body having a first section adapted to receive the fastening means and a second section adapted to receive the torque, the first section and the second section being adapted for attachment to each other to transfer the torque to the first section, wherein the first section is adapted to allow piping to be located adjacent the second section during use of the tool to allow the first section to receive the fastening means. The tool may be configured as a socket. The invention also relates to a kit including the sockets.
Abstract:
Valve seat assemblies are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes a valve seat assembly including a cage and a valve seat coupled to the cage. The valve seat assembly is to be disposed in a valve body. The example apparatus also includes a seal having a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side. The first side, the second side and the third side are to be in contact with the valve seat assembly, and the fourth side is to be in contact with the valve body.
Abstract:
An open ended ratchet wrench having interchangeable open ring sockets is presented. The wrench has removeable top plate (210) for replacement of the ring socket (240). The wrench comprises handle (202), the top plate (210), the ring socket (240). The handle comprises bottom plate (254) with groove (278) to hold the ring in a rotatable manner. Ratchet pawls (220, 222) with selective bias mechanism allow for rotation in a selected direction. Selection is performed by lever (230).
