Abstract:
A fastening assembly for securing first (80) and second (83) panel components in side-by-side abutting relationship and a method for forming said fastening assembly. Each of said panel components include opposite side surfaces and edge surfaces therebetween, the fastening assembly including means for joining the panel components one to the other in which an elongated open channel (40) extends from an edge surface and into the face of one of the side surfaces of the first panel component (80). An elongated fastening element (30) is disposed within a bore in a surface of the second panel component and is adapted for insertion into the channel, the channel being closed by an insert (35) so that the elongated fastening element is covered by the insert when the panel components are brought into abutting relationship and joined by the elongated fastening element.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a locking system (100). The locking system includes a plate (110) having a first projection (130) and a second projection (132). At least a portion of the first projection runs at least substantially along a vertical axis (V1) of the plate, and the plate also includes a surface area (126) for receiving a decorative image (128). The locking system further includes a base (112) having a first slot (136) and a second slot (138) in which the first slot and the second slot run at least substantially along horizontal axes (H1, H2) of the base. The first slot detachably receives the first projection when the plate is in a first position, and the second slot detachably receives the second projection as the plate is turned to a second position.
Abstract:
A handle (1) for application to an elongated element (10) such as the shaft of an implement or tool. The handle has a handle sleeve (2), an operating part (3) which can be turned relative to sleeve (2) about the geometric axis of sleeve (2) and fixed in the required rotational position relative to the latter, and an engagement part arranged within handle sleeve (2) and having the shape of at least one helical spring unit (4) into which the elongated element (10) is to be inserted and which is, by one of its ends, non-rotatably connected with handle sleeve (2) and, by its other end, non-rotatably connected with operating part (3). The diameter of spring unit (4) diminishes as operating part (3) is turned in one direction and increases again as operating part (3) is turned in the opposite direction.
Abstract:
A connector arrangement for butt joining substantially hollow, tubular structural members is provided comprising a connector (80) which is securely fastened within the end of a first member (59) to be abutted to an extending member (31) and whereby the head of the connector protrudes from the first member and is simultaneously and securely retained within two openings provided within the extending member. In a preferred embodiment the two openings in the extending member extend the full length of the extending member along each side face thereof. In this manner the joint may be effectuated at any location along the length of the extending member. The head configuration (81) of the connector includes a spherical portion and a plate portion (84), which provide for a secure fit within the two openings of the extending member.
Abstract:
An alignment device for power tools is disclosed comprising a power tool attachment, typically a socket (10, 200) or an extension (30) and an alignment ring (26, 150) mounted on an output shaft (22). The alignment ring (26, 150) is placed between the output shaft (22) and a socket or extension. The alignment ring (26, 150) reduces the motion between the socket and the output shaft, thereby reducing wear on both the socket and the output shaft. Also, the use of the alignment ring (26) allows the energy of the tool to be used in improving torque.
Abstract:
An improved scaffold connection is provided, comprising a first ring member (2) having an upper side (3) and a lower side (4), fixedly attachable to a vertical scaffold member; a connector body (6) having a first end (7), a second end (8), a top (9), a bottom (10) and sides (11) fixedly attachable at its second end to one end of a horizontal scaffold member (12) having an upper surface, the connector body including a portion (40) for attachment of the connector body to the upper side of the first ring member, the portion extending from the first end of the connector body; a cavity (15) extending through the body and opening exterior of the body at a first opening (16) in the first end; and a latch member (18) positioned in the cavity and having a first end (19) extending through the first opening, the latch member being pivotal within the cavity such that the first end is positionable below the lower side of the first ring member.
Abstract:
A molded plastic replacement handle for a tool, such as a sledge hammer, which includes an opening tapered from both ends so that the narrower part is located close to the center of the tool. A plastic adapter element is dimensioned to fit over one end of the handle and includes a tapered area in the same general direction as the bottom taper in the opening in the tool. After placement of the adapter element on the handle, the tool is placed on the adapter element. A metal insert having an opening therein is dimensioned to fit over to enter space between the top tapered area of the tool and the handle. The metal insert includes bottom sections disposed to bend inwardly into the space when the insert is forced downwardly to secure the tool to the top of the handle.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hand-held tool comprising a handle for holding an essentially shape-stable, resilient wire element, e.g. a wire loop. The invention also relates to a handle attachement arrangement which has a positive influence on the use and reliability of the tool. The handle attachment arrangement includes a body (4) which is accommodated in the handle and has an essentially U-shaped cross section. The wire placed in the body (4) is bent around the rear end-edge of the body and returns in an opposite direction beneath the bottom of the U-profile. The side walls of the U-profile are angled in towards one another so as to tightly abut the wire located therein. The unit comprising the body and the wire is then driven into a tubular part (8) which is therewith deformed elastically so as to tightly embrace the unit. The tool comprising this attachement arrangement includes a handle (3) and at least one essentially shape-stable, resilient wire extending in a loop from the handle.
Abstract:
A striking tool assembly (10) comprises a tool head (12) including a tool eye having a continuously tapered interior surface (30) and a sleeve member (14) having a tool eye mating portion (17) and an overstrike portion (22) disposed within the tool eye for receiving an elongated tool handle (20). An annular wall structure of the sleeve member (14) is temporarily collapsible inwardly for a retaining section (19) to be located in a sleeve securing position when the sleeve member (14) is moved in a longitudinal axial direction into the tool head eye. The sleeve member (14) has an inner tapered bore including an inner frictionally mating surface (15) for frictionally mating with a preselected elongated tool handle (20), which may be used interchangeably with each tool head (12) of a tool head system comprising a plurality of tool heads (12) each of which is effective for performing a different manual work operation.
