Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a punch (1) for punching a workpiece. In particular, the invention relates to a punch including a base (6) to stably support the punch and a support member configured to accommodate and locate the workpiece in a punching position. The support member is preferably movably connected to the base and preferably includes at least one punch member (3) configured and operably associated with the support portion to punch the workpiece in the punching position upon an actuation movement of the support member with respect to the base. Another embodiment of the present invention relates to a punch having a paper tray oriented at an angle with respect to the base to support a sufficient portion of a sheet of paper to prevent an unsupported portion from falling over and withdrawing from the support portion. In particular, the paper tray and punch mechanism are oriented to expel paper chips such that the chips are visible to an operator as they are punched.
Abstract:
A binding apparatus (10) facilitates a convenient, one-stage load-and-close binding system. The apparatus has a base (12) and a pivotable former door (18) movable between open and closed positions. A series of hooks (40) are provided to hold an open binder relative to the base for loading sheets (17) onto the open binder ringlets (26). The apparatus has three former surfaces or bars, including parallel, opposed first (30) and second (32) former bars, as well as an adjacently-positioned third (34) former bar oriented generally perpendicularly to the first and second former bars. Generally, the binding apparatus is operable to squeeze a wire binder (22) between the opposed first and second forming bars to close the wire ringlets. The free (28) ends of the wire ringlets are maintained proper alignment against the third (34) former bar.

Abstract:
To provide a stapler in which a staple leg of a nonmetal staple can be reliably bent with a small number of components and a simple configuration so as to reduce a cost. A stapler includes a penetration mechanism and a bending mechanism. Hole parts are provided in a pair of cutting blades of the penetration mechanism. The bending mechanism includes first and second bending members which protrude from the hole parts toward between the pair of cutting blades to bend a pair of staple legs, guide surfaces which guide the first and second bending members, and a slide member which drives the first and second bending members. The first and second bending members are provided between the guide surfaces and the slide member.
