Abstract:
A towbar with a hitch ball system is shown and described. The towbar with a hitch ball system may include a first bushing member, a second bushing member telescopingly engaged with the first bushing member, the second bushing member including at least one aperture, and a pivoting arm telescopingly engaged with the second bushing member. The towbar with a hitch ball system may also include an engagement device operatively coupled with the second bushing member, the engagement device including a pin member and an electrically-operating device, where the electrically-operating device generally aligns the pin member with the at least one aperture of the second bushing member.
Abstract:
A cargo carrier has a frame, a wheel assembly coupled to the frame, and a quick release assembly. The quick release assembly allows the user to quickly raise and lower the wheel assembly with respect to the frame, or to turn an adjusting screw to more finely raise and lower the wheel assembly. In addition, a vehicle hitch mount has an outer tube and an inner tube slidably received in the outer tube. The inner tube has a retracted position in which the inner tube is retracted with respect to the outer tube, and an extended position in which the inner tube is extended with respect to the outer tube. A locking pin can be operated by the user at one side of the cargo carrier to removably lock the hitch mount to the vehicle hitch located at an opposite side of the cargo carrier.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement (1) for a train system (2) consisting of vehicles (3) capable of connection in a row, which exhibit lifting devices to permit them to be lifted between a lowered position enabling them to be driven under loading cassettes (4) functioning as load carriers and a raised position enabling the vehicles to be driven on a base (6) with the load (5) supported between designated loading locations on land or on a ship, in conjunction with which connecting devices (7) are so arranged as to connect the vehicles (3) together with one another in pairs. The aforementioned connecting devices are formed by telescopic bars (7), which are supported in such a way as to be capable of pivoting both vertically (8) and horizontally (9).
Abstract:
A rotating, self-aligning device ("D-ring assembly") mounted on or associated with a recovery vehicle for supporting and pulling a load, and a method of using this device, which includes an outer housing rigidly attached to the recovery vehicle; and a rotating base plate, with a bearing for supporting a shackle. The device automatically self-aligns along a centerline of the shackle relative to the direction of the load.
Abstract:
An accessory towing apparatus that connects a towing vehicle to a gooseneck-type trailer. The accessory towing apparatus includes a chassis framework assembly mounted on an axle having two ground engaging wheels. The chassis assembly includes three linkage arms, which are attached to and extend from the framework. The ends of the three linkage arms are designed to engage and couple with three brackets attached to the main frame of the towing vehicle. When the respective coupling mechanism of the three linkage arms are each engaged, they are substantially parallel to one another and pivot about a substantially common axis. An automatic alignment and attachment system may also be included to greatly simplify the attachment process of the gooseneck-type trailer to the towing vehicle.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a hitch assembly (10) comprising a base member (12) and a connector formation (14) which can secure the base member to a vehicle. The hitch assembly further also includes a support member (16) to which a hitch ball (20) can be connected, the support member including an adjustment formation (42) which can cooperate with the connector formation for securing the support member to the base member, the adjustment formation further also defining a first and a second position between which the hitch ball can be adjusted relative to the base member.
Abstract:
A hitch assembly (10) and a trailer (12) for a motor vehicle includes a hitch receiver (44) mounted to a motor vehicle and mounting member securable to the hitch receiver (44), an adaptor structure (56) secured to the mounting member, a receiving tube (58) having a top end and a bottom end, and a sliding ring (64) fastened to the receiving tube (58) movable along the receiving tube between the top end and bottom end to provide a first degree of motion.
Abstract:
A movable tow bar (10) that is operable to move a tow ball (122) from side to side in order to assist with manoeuvring a towed vehicle, such as a trailer. The tow ball (122) is preferably moved using a hydraulic cylinder. It may be controlled manually from inside the towing vehicle. It may also be controlled automatically using one or more sensors.
Abstract:
An adjustable stand assembly (20) for a towed vehicle, the adjustable stand assembly (20) comprising a vehicle attachment means (40) and a stand (60) releasably and adjustably mounted to the vehicle attachment means (40). Preferably, the vehicle attachment means (40) comprises a mount bracket (42) for attachment to the vehicle and a support bracket (50) releasably mounted to the mount bracket (42).
