Abstract: A pressure reducing valve for coupling to a pressurized water supply line includes a valve body with an inlet for coupling to the pressurized water supply line, an outlet, a passage extending between the inlet and the outlet, and a valve seat in the passage. A valve stem extends into the passage, which has a sealing member. An automatic pressure reducing system is provided for urging the sealing member toward the valve seat for throttling the valve to thereby reduce the pressure at the outlet. The automatic pressure reducing system includes parallel springs that occupy less space than conventional springs for a given spring load.

Abstract: A drill string safety valve operator provides a rotatable tubular body (12) having a longitudinal through bore (16) for conveying fluids. A valve member (20) is movably disposed within the body for valving the fluid flow through the bore. A crank arm (26) extends from and is coupled to the valve member (20) at the valve stem for moving the valve member (20) between open flow and closed flow positions responsive to rotation of the crank arm (26). A bearing (28) is carried at the outboard end of the crank arm (26) for transmitting load to the crank arm. An annular ring (30) is supported about the tubular housing (12) and provides a surface that can engage the bearing (28). Hydraulic cylinders (50) power the annular ring (30) so that the annular ring engages the bearing (28). Downward movement of the ring (30) causes a corresponding rotation of the crank arm (26). The apparatus thus allows quick remote closure of the valve during a blowout condition of the drill pipe bore.

Abstract: The invention relates to an expansion valve for coolants in refrigeration systems, air conditioners or heat pumps. Said expansion valve (10) has a valve stem (12) which is axially slidably guided in a valve housing (11) and can be actuated by a control motor (13).
