Abstract:
An igniter using a liquid fuel, capable of securing the combustion characteristics which meet what is demanded by an igniter, by sucking the liquid fuel by a combustion wick, burning the liquid fuel at a free end portion of the wick and restricting a saturation flame length while securing an initial flame length and a later increase in the flame length, wherein inner cotton (3) impregnated with a liquid fuel comprising mainly alcohol is stored in a bottom portion of a fuel tank (2) with an upper space (2a) formed in the same fuel tank (2), a part of a surface of the combustion wick (6) in which a suction portion (62) contacts the inner cotton (3) to suck the liquid fuel by a capillary phenomenon and burn the same at a combustion portion (61) is exposed to the upper space (2a), whereby the fuel supply capacity is restricted.
Abstract:
A lighter having a main fuel containment housing body and a forward hinged lid with a closed position and an open position, the open position providing access to the flame generator assembly. The flame generator assembly providing a wind shield with a flame outlet that, when the lighter is in an operation orientation, is directed upwardly and in a direction generally perpendicular to the major dimension of the lighter in the closed position. The windshield having dimples with apertures extending outwardly for reducing wind while providing oxygen. The lighter may have a forward sleeve with a closeable lid, the sleeve extending around the four sides of the housing and slidable on the fuel containment housing. An actuation portion effects a transition from the closed position to an operational position, opening the lid and sliding the sleeve downwardly exposing the flame generation system out of an opening in the sleeve.
Abstract:
A liquid fuel combusting device, wherein a cover for upper cover (5) made of a metal plate is set on the upper part of a tank upper cover (4), a support part (52) of an igniting member (10) is installed on the cover for upper cover (5), and a combustion wick (6) is inserted and held so as to fix the tank upper cover (4) on the upper end of a fuel tank (6), store liquid fuel inside it, and install the combustion wick (6) which sucks liquid fuel and combusts it at its projected tip combustion part and the igniting member (10), whereby the heat resistance and assemblage of the combustion wick (6) and igniting member (10) can be increased.
Abstract:
A liquid fuel combustion appliance provided with a combustion wick for permitting a sucking portion thereof to suck a liquid fuel mainly composed of alcohol and stored in a fuel tank by capillarity and burn it at an end burning portion thereof, a wick holder for holding the combustion wick, an igniting member for igniting the combustion wick, and a closure cap for prevention of volatilization, by which the combustion wick is openably closed, wherein a burning portion of the combustion wick is non-circular in crosssection to enlarge area thereof exposed above the wick holder.
Abstract:
A lighter includes a casing (1), a cover (2), an oil container (3), a wick (4), a wick tube (5), an oiling opening (6), a closure plug (7), a flint (8), a flint wheel (9). The oil container (3) forms a sealed and hollow chamber and is disposed in the casing (1). The sealed oil container (3) is provided with the oiling opening (6). The wick tube (5) extends from the outside of the oil container (3) into the hollow chamber thereof. Fuel oil is filled into the oil container (3) through the oiling opening (6) and then stored therein. The oiling opening (6) is provided with the closure plug (7). One end of the wick (4) extends to the firingzone of the flint (8) outside the oil container (3) through the wick tube (5), while the rest is immersed into the fuel oil stored in the oil container (3). The cover (2) is connected to the casing (1).
Abstract:
A wicking device includes a core material and a polymeric shell material wherein the core material includes bonded fibrous materials providing a tortuous path for a gas and/or liquid, the core material being permeable to the gas and/or liquid and the shell material being impermeable to the gas and/or liquid.
Abstract:
A liquid fuel burning device comprising a wick for sucking and burning a liquid fuel contained in a fuel tank by capillarity and a vent passage which is provided in a portion other than a fuel passage used by the wick and allows communication between an interior of the fuel tank and the outside air at least during combustion.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a flame producing assembly. The flame producing assembly may comprise a fuel reservoir, a flame wick and a fuel wick in fluid communication with the fuel reservoir. The flame producing assembly may further comprise a translation mechanism, wherein the translation mechanism may be configured to switch the fuel wick between a first position and a second position. Further, the flame wick may be in fluid communication with the fuel wick when the fuel wick is in the first position and not in fluid communication with the fuel wick when the fuel wick is in the second position.
Abstract:
A wick dispenser for holding a wick material includes a housing defining a chamber and a wick outlet. The wick dispenser further includes a spool positioned within the chamber of the housing and configured to support the wick material. The spool is rotatable relative to the housing about a rotational axis. The wick dispenser further includes a handle coupled to the spool and accessible for manual rotation by a user. Rotation of the handle results in rotation of the spool. Rotation of the handle in a first direction unravels the wick material from the spool. Rotation of the handle in a second direction draws the wick material into the chamber through the wick outlet.
Abstract:
A fuel tank for liquid fuel combustion device, wherein the fuel container part of a fuel tank (2) is formed in a split structure and also formed integrally and connected with the split part between split parts (21) and (22) so that internal cotton (3) or combustion wick (6) can be loaded into the fuel tank (2) under good conditions, whereby liquid fuel is soaked and held in the internal cotton (3) made of liquid absorbing fiber material stored in the fuel tank (2), and the liquid fuel is sucked by a sucking part (62) of the combustion wick (6) and combusted at the tip combustion part (61).
