Abstract:
A recoil assembly for a rifle includes a barrel assembly, a bolt, bolt actuator, and a buffer assembly. The barrel assembly includes a barrel secured to a barrel extension. The barrel assembly is configured to be movably received through the fore end of the upper receiver and to move axially relative to the upper receiver when the rifle is fired. The barrel extension is coupled to a hydraulic buffer assembly located below the barrel extension and counteracts recoil forces acting on the barrel extension when the rifle is fired. A recoil spring is coupled to an op rod extending from a gas piston assembly on the barrel. The recoil spring counteracts recoil forces acting the bolt actuator when the rifle is fired.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for facilitating reloading and resisting recoil of a firearm include an elastic member in communication with a portion of the firearm. A contact member coupled to the portion of the firearm, the elastic member, or combinations thereof, is movable between a first position in which movement of the portion of the firearm is biased by the elastic member and a second position in which movement of the portion of the firearm is generally unaffected by the elastic member. An actuator can be used to move the contact member between the first and second positions.
Abstract:
A recoil impulse reducing bolt carrier group includes a main bolt carrier group body for the intended weapon system and a recoil impulse reducing assembly. The recoil impulse reducing assembly fits inside the main bolt carrier group body. The recoil impulse reducing assembly includes an interchangeable weight and a dampener, such as springs or fluid. The weight moves within the main bolt carrier group body under hydraulic and/or spring tension. The recoil impulse reducing bolt carrier group manipulates weight distribution during the operation of the firearm to prevent and reduce front and rear recoil forces from affecting the firearm.
Abstract:
Firearm comprising a projectile barrel (15), a firing chamber body (16) fixed to the barrel, a breech mechanism (12) for loading a projectile in the firing chamber and ejecting the spent cartridge from the firearm after detonation, a mobile bolt (1), and a receiver structure (13) that supports and guides the mobile bolt. The mobile bolt comprises lateral bearings projecting laterally from opposite sides of the bolt, a first pair of lateral bearings (4, 4') positioned towards a front portion of the bolt and a second pair of the lateral bearings (10, 10') positioned towards a rear portion of the bolt. The receiver structure comprises sidewalls (2, 2') each have bolt bearing raceway grooves (3, 3') slidably receiving and guiding the lateral bearings of the bolt, wherein a profile of a first portion (3a) of the bolt bearing raceway groove defines a non-constant height ( H(y) ) between upper and lower guide edges (18, 19) that varies as a function of the distance ( y ) from the firing chamber body (16), said profile comprising a velocity control portion with a slope (P) configured to impart a braking effect on the bolt during its sliding movement to slow down the rate of fire.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a firearm, which includes a receiver and a barrel mountable to the receiver. A slide is mountable to the receiver so as to be movable between an open position and a closed position. A locking element is operatively associated with the barrel. The locking element is displaceable between an inactive position and an active position whereby, when the locking element is in the active position, the locking element engages the slide such that movement of the slide towards the open position is inhibited.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A firearm system is provided. A pump-action firearm, such as a shotgun, includes a buffer attached to a trigger housing. The buffer consists of a resilient or semi-resilient material and is positioned such as to face towards an opening the receiver in which the magazine tube is partially received. The buffer includes a contoured bottom surface and an upper surface, configured in a way which shortens the space available within an opening of a receiver while accommodating the loading of shells into a magazine tube. Upon moving a shell into the opening, such as by pumping the action, the shell impacts the buffer, which stabilizes the shell prior to being lifted by an elevators. For shorter shells, this reduces the risk of a jamming event. For longer shells, the buffer is configured to compress to accommodate the additional length.
Abstract:
A recoil management system having a buffer element with a buffer element body portion, a buffer element knob, and a buffer element cavity; a collar; a sleeve, wherein a sleeve recess is formed so as to accept at least a portion of the buffer element body portion therein; a buffer element recoil spring, wherein the buffer element recoil spring is positioned about at least a portion of the elongate buffer element body portion, between the collar and the sleeve; and a bumper, wherein a bumper extension portion extends from a first end of the bumper to a bumper shoulder, wherein the bumper extension portion is such that at least a portion of the bumper extension portion can be fitted at least partially within the sleeve aperture.
