The present invention is a training device for target shooting. The device contains a housing with an affixing means on one side and a sensory marker. The housing has a forward side, a back side and a perimeter edge forming a chamber with one or more compartments. The affixing means is preferably on the back side of the housing for attaching the housing to a shooting target. The sensory marker can be a colored powder, reflective particulate or a light. When the training device is hit either the colored powder of reflective particulate is expelled or the light is extinguished providing an easily identifiable visual indication of a successful shot even when the device is at a significant distance from the shooter.

A structure of a ball target is disclosed. On the surface of the target there can be a plurality of column bodies, between which holes are formed. The ball can strike and pass through the column body by an outer force. With the specific flexible structure of the column body, each ball can be guided to slide into the hole smoothly by the pushing force of the ball itself. Through the specific structure, not only the pushing force of the ball can be cushioned to prevent striking damage of the target surface and breakage of the target surface of the main body, but also the ball can enter into the hole by appropriate cushioning and guiding. At least one inductive device can be set behind the hole. When the ball flies into the hole and strikes and presses the inductive device, the signal induced can be sent to the microcomputer to produce a voice and light effect of automatic scoring and speaking.

Targets in accordance with the invention should be substantially pitch free and have a high LD 50 toxicity level as well as high frangibility. This can be accomplished in accordance with the invention by forming the targets with high internal stresses such as are formed by forming targets in unstable crystal states.
