Abstract:
According to some embodiments, a holding device for a detonation initiation system is disclosed. The holding device includes an initiator holder having a longitudinal internal cavity. The longitudinal internal cavity is configured to retain an initiator and an electrical cable in electrical contact with the initiator. The holding device further includes a plurality of retention fingers configured for retaining a shaped charge adjacent the initiator. The plurality of retention fingers define a shaped charge receiving portion that may be configured to receive shaped charges of different shapes. The holder may be formed from a thermoplastic material.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a cartridge containing an explosive composition and an initiator, and more particularly to such a cartridge which has enhanced safety characteristics. The cartridge comprises a container filled with an explosive composition, and an initiator capable of initiating the explosive composition inside the container. The initiator is dispiaceable relative to the container between a safe position in which the initiator is shielded from the explosive composition such that initiation of the initiator does not result in initiation of the explosive composition, and a live position in which the initiator is exposed to the explosive composition to permit initiation thereof.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a deflagration arrangement including a cartridge having an outer wall with a base. The cartridge defines a chamber with an outlet passage leading from the chamber through the base. The chamber contains a homogeneously mixed solid state pyrotechnic charge being provided with ignition means for igniting the pyrotechnic charge so that it forms a molten metal capable of flowing out of the outlet passage. The molten metal is directed to flow onto unexploded ordnance, such as a landmine, to cause destruction thereof.
Abstract:
An initiator assembly for an inflator device having at least one inflator device mating lug. The initiator assembly includes an initiator having an initiator cup at least in part defining a storage chamber containing a reactive charge. The initiator also includes at least one electrical connector in reaction initiating communication with the reactive charge. The initiator assembly has a molded body fitting over at least a portion of the initiator. The molded body includes at least one locking flange that is adapted to lockingly engage the at least one inflator device mating lug.
Abstract:
An explosive device (10) comprising: an explosive charge body (12) including an explosive charge and detonator (21); a housing (22) attached to the explosive charge body (12); and a length of electrical or non-electrical non-pyrotechnic firing line (26) having a first (28) and second end (32) the majority of which is stored within the housing so as to permit progressive removal from the housing on pulling the first end (28) thereof, and which is attached at the second end (32) to the detonator (21). The explosive device (10) can be used in a versatile manner for avalanche control, can allow a degree of positioning after initial deployment and provide safe operation yet is easily handleable, readily deployed and compact, and negates the hazards associated with the use of pyrotechnic delay fuze.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an electronic module for a detonator comprising an electronic circuit (4, 5, 6) encapsulated in a cured resin matrix (7) whereto is abutted at least an input conductor (8) and from which emerge two conductors forming the ignition line (9) of a detonator, the resin matrix (7) being housed in a tubular casing (1) extending beyond the resin matrix (7) on the side of the ignition line (9) to define a cavity (11), the output conductors whereof the length is greater than the depth of the cavity forming a short circuit ignition line (9) outside the resin matrix in the cavity (11), which cavity is provided with a removable end cap (12).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cartridge (1) for cleaning installations, such as incinerators, heat exchangers, flue gas channels, and silos, comprising a casing, e.g. a sleeve (2), containing a pyrotechnical mixture (5) and/or components of a pyrotechnical mixture and comprising an electrical detonator (3) for initiating deflagration of the mixture. The cartridge further comprises a housing (4) which accommodates the detonator (3) and which housing (4) is attached to the casing (3) and movable between a first position, wherein the detonator (3) is isolated from the pyrotechnical mixture (5), and a second position, wherein the detonator (3) extends in the pyrotechnical mixture (5).
Abstract:
A detonation wavefront controller for a linear shaped charge, comprising a first part and a second part. The first part comprises: a detonator holder, and a first aperture having a first width and a shape which is substantially a cyclic polygon, substantially an ellipse or substantially circular. The second part comprises: a second aperture having a second width larger than the first width. With the first part at least partly received within the second part, the first part is moveable relative to the second part to configure the detonation wavefront controller at least between: a first configuration with a first distance between the first aperture and the second aperture, and a second configuration with a second distance between the first aperture and the second aperture, the second distance larger than the first distance.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device, a system and a method for retaining detonators in an explosive booster, particularly a retention device for retaining a detonator in the blind hole of a booster which allows the safe extraction thereof from the booster. The retention device comprises a flexible holding means that is movable between a blocking position retaining the detonator inside the blind hole and an open position which allows extracting the detonator from the blind hole.
