According to the invention, the adjuster comprises at least one operating mechanism (40), which is accessible from outside the test device, for effective adjustment of the adjuster. Said mechanism, with a simple operation, permits rapid resetting times for diameter adjustment. The operating security is increased, whereby access to the interior of the test device can be avoided.

A checking apparatus, including at least a gauging or measuring head, includes a stationary structure and at least a support structure for the head, coupled to the stationary structure in an adjustable and removable way.
