Abstract:
A method and apparatus for cleaning magnetic tapes which includes running a tape (60) past a vacuum assisted two-sided fabric wiping station (370) and a vacuum assisted scraping station (360), with the help of a plurality of air bearings (320). This device further includes a threading apparatus which threads a magnetic tape (60) along a tape path (300) and in contact with the wiping (370) and scraping (360) stations. The threading apparatus includes a single cam (430) connected at its axis of rotation to a threader arm (410). The mutual rotation of cam (430) and arm (410) withdraws the tape (60) from a typical cartridge (50) and threads it along the tape path (300) delivering it to a take-up wheel (270). A displacement arm (426) slideably connected to the cam allows for temporary displacement of one side of the fabric wiping station (390) to facilitate threading. The device also includes an optical encoder (268) allowing a microprocessor (90) to monitor and control the linear velocity of the tape (60).
Abstract:
Liquid composition polymerizable into organic glasses with a refractive index (nD ) >/= 1.53 comprising: from 30 % to 90 % by weight of an allyl ester of an aromatic dicarboxylic or tricarboxylic acid having general formula (I): wherein R represents a radical of a dicarboxylic or tricarboxylic acid, and n is 2 or 3; from 10 % to 60 % by weight of bis(allyl carbonate) of an aliphatic or aromatic dihydroxylic alcohol, oligomeric or essentially oligomeric, having general formula (II), wherein R' represents a radical of an aliphatic or aromatic dihydroxylic alcohol a radical of an aliphatic or aromatic dihydroxylic alcohol and n is an integer or a fraction ranging from 2 to 10 extremes included, preferably from 2 to 5 extremes included; (C) from 0.5 % to 5 % by weight and preferably from 1 % to 3 % by weight of an organic peroxide belonging to the group of perketals; (D) from 0 ppm to 10 ppm of an organic dyes or a mixture of dye soluble in said liquid composition.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are presented for controlling a film transport apparatus of a film reel scanner. In one embodiment, a system is provided including a line scanning camera, a supply reel motor, a take-up reel motor, and a plurality of capstan motors. A control system may then be configured to receive and dynamically adjust position information from these motors. The control system may then provide the dynamically adjusted position information to a plurality of controllers, which may then generate control signals for the supply reel motor, the take-up reel motor, and the at least a subset of the capstan motors.
Abstract:
A light field (LF) display system comprises a LF display assembly. The LF display assembly comprises one or more LF display modules configured to present holographic merchandise to a patron in a viewing volume of the LF display system. The LF display system is also configured to receive patron input in response to presentation of the holographic merchandise. The LF display system may track patron movement within the viewing volume of the LF display system. The LF display system may update presentation of the holographic merchandise based on the received patron input and/or the tracked patron movement. The LF display system may further provide other sensory feedback via a sensory feedback system. The LF display system may further comprise a patron profiling system for storing patron information under a patron profile. The LF display system may further present information via a holographic assistant presented by the LF display modules.
Abstract:
An apparatus for winding a tape medium comprises a hub (24) supported by a frame (22) for wrappingly receiving the tape medium (14). A drive (16) engages the hub and rotably drives it about a wind axis (W) whereby a length of the tape medium is wound to form a spool/like tape pack with a portion of the tape medium entering the tape pack at a tangential nip and with the tape pack having opposite first (62) and second (66) surfaces. A packing arm (43, 47) includes a proximal end portion (70, 72) at the hub and extends to a distal end portion (74, 76) at the circumference of the tape pack. The packing arm has a contact surface for contacting the first surface of the tape pack. A support member (42, 46) supports the packing arm in contact wiht the first surface of the tape pack. A tape reel assembly for mounting to and demounting from a tape drive apparatus is also provided.
