A utility-scale energy storage and conversion system can operate two or more inverter groups such that their reactive power commands are proportional to their available reactive power range. The control system can therefore distribute the reactive power commands in proportion to the available Q range, thereby ensuring that all inverters in the utility-scale energy storage and conversion system 100 operate with the same Q "headroom". In addition, the utility-scale energy storage and conversion system can use an on-load tap changer (ETC) to adjust a terminal voltage associated with a first group of inverters and a second group of inverters. The first group of inverters can be associated with a first rating and the second group of inverters can be associated with a second rating that is greater than the first rating.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Stromrichteranordnung (1), die einen netzgeführten Stromrichter (2) umfasst, der einen Wechselspannungsanschluss aufweist, der über wenigstens eine Phasenleitung mit einem Wechselspannungsnetz verbindbar ist, wobei die Stromrichteranordnung ferner wenigstens einen Schaltmodulzweig (18–20) umfasst, der seriell in der wenigstens einen Phasenleitung angeordnet ist, und der eine Reihenschaltung von Schaltmodulen (40) umfasst, an deren Anschlüssen jeweils bipolare Spannungen erzeugbar sind, die sich zu einer Zweigspannung summieren. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die Stromrichteranordnung ferner einen steuerbaren Transformator (26) umfasst, der zwischen dem wenigstens einen Schaltmodulzweig und dem Stromrichter angeordnet ist. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung ein Betriebsverfahren für die erfindungsgemäße Stromrichteranordnung.

Trata a presente solicitação de patente de invenção de um dispositivo bivolt automático que tem por finalidade comutar automaticamente a saída de motores de indução monofásicos até a potência de 3HP/CV, assim que for conectado à fonte de energia de 127 V ou 220 V, motores universais de escovas embobinados em serie paralelo com potencia até 3000 W e transformadores de corrente de 127V/220V até 3000 W, fornecendo tensão específica para a ligação série paralelo, sendo a sua aplicação voltada ao segmento de engenharia elétrica/eletrônica. A invenção inclui um sensor de tensão propriamente dito (1), contatos (2), entradas (3) de 127 V ou 220 V e respectivos contatos (4), além das saídas (5) do motor de indução, compreendendo ainda uma fonte auxiliar (6) de saída constante de 127 V. O dispositivo automático bivolt para motores de indução monofásicos de até 3HP/CV se aplica a produtos como aqueles de linha branca, dentre outros, sem a necessidade de que o usuário se preocupe com a mudança de voltagem ao produto ao qual foi aplicado, e, em relação à segurança, eliminar a queima de produtos por sobre tensão.

Devices and methods for providing a regulated current to a varying resistive load. A voltage booster powered by a primary electrical source provides an adjustable voltage across the load, while a current regulator in series with the load maintains the desired current. When the voltage drop across the current regulator exceeds an upper threshold, the voltage booster output is reduced to a lower level to reduce the power dissipated by the current regulator, and thereby to improve efficiency. When the voltage drop across the current regulator is less than a lower threshold, the voltage booster output is increased to a higher level. In burst mode operation, the voltage booster output alternates between full voltage and zero voltage, and an optional capacitor provides voltage across the resistive load during discharge. An optional diode ensures that the capacitor discharges through the load in cases where the voltage booster output is not floating.
