摘要: Enhanced Common Packet Radio Interface (eCPRI) based Fronthaul forms the foundation for open radio access network (O-RAN). O-RAN envisages splitting the radio into two parts, a Distributed Unit (DU) and Radio Units (RU), interconnected using high speed Fronthaul links. O-RAN and eCPRI for 5G/NR place demands for high speed Fronthaul with low latency, and high network bandwidth requirements. In the present disclosure, embodiments for configurable eCPRI Fronthaul solutions are disclosed. Various hardware accelerator implementations are presented for control plane and user plane traffic. The hardware accelerator implementation may support DU and RRU functionality required by eCPRI with minimal software intervention. The configurable eCPRI Fronthaul may support different data flows and meet different performance demands of DU and RRU. Scalable architecture may be applied for the configurable eCPRI Fronthaul to allow stacking of multiple hardware accelerators via a high-speed network interconnect, and overall performance and throughput may be improved.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to enhanced quality of service (QoS) notification control enabling a client device or an application function (AF) to be notified, in case of a QoS change to a QoS flow, whether the QoS change has been previously predicted or not. A session management function (SMF) or a policy control function (PCF) determines a prediction outcome for a QoS flow of a PDU session based on a comparison of a potential QoS change for the QoS flow with an actual change for the QoS flow. The prediction outcome may be a Boolean flag set to "true" if the potential QoS change for the QoS flow is the same as the actual change for the QoS flow and "false" in the opposite case. The SMF or PCF sends the determined prediction outcome for the QoS flow to a client device or an AF associated with the PDU session. Thereby, if an application knows about a QoS change in advance the application can e.g. mitigate the effects by putting in place measures. Furthermore, the present disclosure also relates to corresponding methods and a computer program.

The one or more RAN software component is configured to generate SI composed of SI IEs relative to the RAN, where a SI IE relative to the RAN is: a System Information Information Element relative to the application layer, A-SI IE, wherein an A-SI IE is: configured locally by the one or more RAN software components itself; and/or received, by the one or more RAN software components, from an Operations and Management System, OAM, entity; an I-SI IE inputted by the infrastructure management entity; and/or information derived from one or more A-SI IEs and/or one or more I-SI IEs. The one or more RAN software component is configured to transmit the generated SI or information derived from the generated SI to the one or more RUs via the fronthaul interface. The one or more RUs is configured to use the information received from the RAN software to generate and transmit a radio signal comprising the SI IEs. The UE is configured to receive the radio signal transmitted by the one or more RUs.

摘要: An edge controller may be used for obtaining device data from one or more local devices at a local facility and to provide a representation of at least some of the device data to a remote server. The edge controller may include a network communication port, a cellular communication port and a device communication port. A controller is operatively coupled to the network communication port, the cellular communication port and the device communication port and is configured to receive configuration information and to install the received configuration information on the edge controller. The installed configuration information configures the controller to obtain the device data from the one or more local devices and to send a representation of at least some of the device data to the remote server.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method performed by a central Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF) in a communications network. The communications network comprises one or more local NWDAFs configured to develop a model using federated learning, in which each local NWDAF stores a copy of the model and trains the copy of the model by inputting training data into a machine-learning process. The method comprises receiving, from the one or more local NWDAFs, a respective local model update comprising an update to values of one or more parameters of the model generated by training a respective copy of the model using machine-learning. The method further comprises combining the local model updates received from the one or more local NWDAFs to obtain a combined model update.
