Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for scaling an IP address in overlay networks without using load balancers. In certain implementations, an overlay IP address can be attached to multiple compute instances via virtual network interface cards (VNICs) associated with the multiple compute instances. Traffic directed to the multi-attached IP address is distributed across the multiple compute instances. In some other implementations, ECMP techniques in overlay networks are used to scale an overlay IP address. In forwarding tables used for routing packets, the IP address being scaled is associated with multiple next hop paths to multiple network virtualization devices (NVDs) associated with the multiple compute instances. When a particular packet directed to the overlay IP address is to be routed, one of the multiple next hop paths is selected for routing the packet. This enables packets directed to the IP address to be distributed across the multiple compute instances.

Abstract: Systems and methods for match and collect user data and/or user device data within a current Internet access session of a user for use by user notification systems that generate, distribute and display informational messages over the Internet. The system includes a source data reception unit configured to receive a source IP address and a source user device port matched with the translated IP address and with the translated port of the operator or the provider from the NAT service. A data matching unit matches user data and/or user device data from all available sources, including but not limited to operator or provider databases, using the received source IP address and the received user device port. The systems and methods provide delivery of informational messages based on collected/matched user data and/or user device data provided to the maximum number of real identified users.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for performing network address translation to share a limited number of external source network addresses among a large number of connections. Instead of allocating an external source network address for an egressing packet just based on its internal source network address, the method of some embodiments allocates the external source network address based on the egressing packet's source network address and destination network address. This allows a limited number of external source network addresses to be re-used for different destination network address. For instance, in some embodiments, the method's network address allocation scheme allows the same 64K (e.g., 2Λ16) external source ports to be used for 64K connections for each destination network address.

Abstract: A method in a User Plane Function (UPF) comprising receiving from a Policy Control Function (PCF), an instruction to create a new Packet Detection Rule (PDR), the instruction comprising an IP address for the wireless device, a value of a ToS field, and a quality-of-service, QoS, reference or charging policy. The method further comprises storing the IP address, the value of the ToS field, and the QoS reference or charging policy as a predetermined PDR. The method further comprises subsequently receiving, from a wireless device, a first packet targeted to an application server, AS, mapping the first packet to the predetermined PDR, based on a value of a ToS, field in the first packet, and adding a 5-tuple associated with the first packet to the predetermined PDR. This serves to bind the new connection to the PDR.

Abstract: A MAP-T system that shares an IPv4 address with one or more other MAP-T systems identifies low latency (LL) traffic for an upstream and a downstream perspective by enhancing NAT of ports using MAP-T rules. The MAP-T rules provide a range of transport ports with a transport slice providing for a subdivision of the transports into a subnet range so as to isolate certain ports for mapping LL traffic. An access point device and a cable modem of the MAP-T system are configured so as to appropriately transform any received traffic so as to properly direct the traffic.

Abstract: A network device for use with a client device and a cable modem termination system ("CMTS"), the client device being configured to run applications requiring data traffic of a first and second quality of service ("QoS"). The CMTS is configured to provide a first service flow and a second service flow to the network device. The network device provides a local area network ("LAN") for connection to the client device and a network address translation ("NAT"). The NAT is configured to map the network device IP address to the client device IP address; divide the source ports into a first range and a low latency range; assign the respective data traffic of the applications to at least one port within the first range and to at least one port within the low latency range; and modify the low latency range of source ports based on a change in data traffic.
