The invention relates to a method and a network arrangement for re-allocating frequency resources for terminal devices of co-located cellular networks. The co-located cellular networks can temporarily release at least a part of their frequency resources to another cellular network's disposal. For accomplishing the reallocation cellular terminals camping in these co-locating cellular networks utilize in their access bursts a complementary code set. The complementary code set can comprise an operator specific signature and a terminal device specific signature. Each of the co-located networks can by correlation identify also terminal devices of other co-locating cellular networks. If the serving cellular network has exhausted its frequency resources it can ask for additional frequency resources from the other co-locating cellular networks.

Cell outage within a wireless communication network is automatically mitigated. This way, neither manual operator intervention nor manual base station reconfiguration is needed to cover problematic cells. Quality of wireless services provided by the network improves when cell outage is automatically mitigated. In one embodiment, cell outage is mitigated in a wireless communication network by automatically communicating cell status messages between radio base stations or within a node that controls the radio base stations (300) indicating whether one or more cells within the network are currently disabled or expected to be disabled. The coverage area of one or more preexisting cells is modified to cover those cells which are currently disabled or expected to be disabled as indicated by the cell status messages (302). The inter-base station interface can also be used to send messages directly between the base stations indicating addition of new cells or deletion of preexisting cells.

In the above downlink transmission system, the wireless node of the cell that the terminal is in uses part or all of the resource blocks in its transmitting channel and transmitting frequency band, and the adjacent cells of the cell that the terminal is in use part or all of the resource blocks in their respective transmitting channels and transmitting frequency bands, to transmit service data to the terminal together in single stream mode. With the present invention, a problem of the spectrum borrowing being restricted by multiple cells that exists in the relevant technique can be overcome, and the area served by the frequency bands of multiple cells together which is accepted by a terminal is increased on the premise of maintaining the frequency space multiplexing layout unchanged and the adjacent cells interference restricted, thereby improving the transmission rate of terminals locating at the edge of a cell.

A downlink transmission system of borrowing frequency spectrum and channel of adjacent cells and a method and a terminal thereof are disclosed in the present invention. In the downlink transmission system, the radio node of the cell that the terminal locates uses its transmitting channel and part or whole resource block in its transmitting frequency band, and several radio nodes of the cells adjacent to the cell that the terminal locates use their transmitting channels respectively, and use part or whole resource block in their transmitting frequency bands respectively, so as to send service data to the terminal together in multi-stream mode. With the present invention, it can overcome the problem that frequency borrowing is restricted by multiple cells, and can improve the region of terminal accepting common service of multiple cells in the precondition of maintaining the pattern of frequency space reuse and that interferences of the adjacent cells are controlled, so as to enhance the transmission rate of the terminal in the border area of cell.
