A configurable enclosure including a cover operably attached to a base. The base includes a wall disposed along a perimeter of a bottom surface and a bottom surface having first and second removable portions configured to be peeled away from the base portion to create an opening through the bottom surface. Moreover, the bottom surface includes thin sections located between first and second tracks that extend around outer edges of each of the removable portions. Actuators are operably attached to the first and second tracks, wherein through actuation of the actuator, the removable portions peel away from the base to create an opening through the bottom surface.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for processing a sealing lip of a metallic can, and a metallic can processed by the apparatus. The present invention provides an apparatus for processing a sealing lip of a metallic can comprising: a pressurization block which is lifted and lowered by a lifting means to elastically provide pressure downward; an interlocking means which moves downward step by step by the pressure of the pressurization block and has a coupling relation in which the means stops at stages in the level difference structure of a base so as to be held; and a lip processing member which presses the sealing lip to the inside and outside of a bottle neck of the metallic can while interlocking due to the movement of the interlocking means, and provides a metallic can wherein a notch groove is processed at a beading part by the apparatus for processing a sealing lip of a metallic can.

The invention provides a die set comprising an annular necking die and a knockout punch for necking-in a metal container, and a method of necking. In the method, in at least one necking-in step, the metal container is both reduced in diameter and the container wall is redrawn to minimize circumferential irregularities of wall thickness and/or circumferential rippling of the container wall caused by the reduction of diameter. The die of the die set is provided with a redraw surface to achieve this redrawing effect.

The invention concerns a method for preparing and forming an easy gripable and flat lying retortable lid having a lid ring (2) extending radially outside in a curl shape adapted to be seamed to a body flange of a container body, and extending radially inside in a substantially flat flange, sealed with an edge ring (3b) of a central foil (3), covering an inner opening (8) of the lid ring, radially inside of the inner end of the flat flange (2b). The central foil having a tab (10) extending from a radially outer end radially inside, and lying substantially parallel and close to an upper surface of the central foil (3). The tab has two radially extending portions, an outer one (10a) and an inner one (10b). The inner portion (10b) rising axially upward, during a press or squeeze operation (Fax; 30, 40) in an intermediate portion (10c) between the inner and outer portions, to force the inner portion (10b) away from the foil surface and keep the outer portion substantially parallel to the foil. The lid is concerned as well. The lid comprises a lid ring and a lid foil, which work together and are coupled together by a sealing portion which seals in ring-like fashion the membrane to a panel of the lid ring.
