    Abstract: A method for managing power consumption of a railway vehicle is provided. The power consumption of the railway vehicle is managed by a central control unit of the railway vehicle. The central control unit receives information representing an amount of electrical traction power required for traction or generated by electrodynamic braking based on a traction demand set by the driver of the railway vehicle. The central control unit additionally receives information representing an amount of electrical auxiliary power demanded by auxiliary devices from control units of the respective auxiliary devices. The total available electrical power, which can be provided by the energy supply line for the railway vehicle, is determined. The central control unit prioritizes operation of the auxiliary devices based on the total available electrical power and the electrical traction power required for traction to selectively reduce consumption of electrical energy by all or selected auxiliary devices if a sum of the electrical traction power required for traction and the electrical auxiliary power demanded by auxiliary devices exceeds the total available electrical power.

    Abstract: Contactless electrical motion apparatus in which power is contactlessly made available to a moving part from a static part, comprises, a stator which in cross section comprising a magnetisable outer wall enclosing a conductor and a hollow space, the magnetizable outer wall having a discontinuity forming an airgap, the stator and hollow space in longitudinal section forming a rail. A moving part has a shoe or slider that fits within the hollow space to ride along the rail, the mover contactlessly filling the air gap at any given location when passing. With the airgap closed a magnetic circuit forms through the magnetizable outer wall and passes via the shoe or slider. The mover has a coil in which currents are induceable from the closed magnetic circuit.

    Abstract: An arrangement (100), a vehicle (12) and method for cable unwinding and winding in an electrically driven vehicle. The arrangement comprises a cable reel (1) and a cable guiding arrangement (3) comprising three contacting surfaces (4a, 4b, 4c) arranged parallel and in a triangle arrangement (5). The contacting surfaces (4a, 4b, 4c) are arranged and dimensioned such that the cable (2) arranged between one of the contacting surfaces on its first side and two of the contacting surfaces on its second side bends on a surface of at least one of the contacting surfaces (4a, 4b, 4c). The arrangement further comprises a control arm (6) and a controlling arrangement (7). The controlling arrangement (7) comprises a force measuring system (8) provided in at least one of the contacting surfaces (4a, 4b, 4c) and arranged to measure force caused by the cable against said contacting surface(s), the force measuring system (8) providing a force (F), a control arm sensor arrangement (9) arranged to detect the direction in which the control arm (6) is pointing in relation to the longitudinal axis (L) of the electrically driven vehicle, and for providing a control arm angle information (CA). The controlling arrangement (7) is arranged to calculate an estimate of forces focusing on the cable (2) based on the force (F) and the control arm angle information (CA).
