Abstract:
A recirculation circuit for a processing vessel is configured to process a load with a process fluid. The recirculation circuit includes a first circuit portion configured to recirculate a first portion of the process fluid through the vessel. The first circuit portion includes a first pump having a first flow rate and a first output pressure and a heat exchanger in fluid communication with the first pump. A second circuit portion is configured to recirculate a second portion of the process fluid through the vessel. The second circuit portion includes a second pump having a second flow rate higher than the first flow rate and a second output pressure lower than the first output pressure.
Abstract:
The invention is provided for producing oil coke on the basis of shale oil. The raw material is inserted in the coke cube, after which the thermo-oxidation and coking of the raw material are performed. Further the obtained oil coke is heated and after that annealed. The thermo-oxidation is performed at a temperature of 270-290 °C and terminated when the softening point of the raw material having been determined by the ball and ring method is 100-140 °C. The vaporised fractions emerged and the air used for thermo-oxidation are processed and re-utilized.
Abstract:
A semi automatic coke drum deheader device (22) for use on a coke drum wherein the coke drum includes an upper opening (7), a flange (6) surrounding the upper opening (7) and a first vessel cover (2) releasably attached to the flange (6). The deheader device (22) comprises a frame (34a) attached to the coke drum, a bridge (1) for supporting the first vessel cover (2) and a second vessel cover (4), a central shaft (13) having a distal end (13a). A lift assembly is attached to the frame (34a) for engaging the thrust collar (37) to selectively raise and lower the bridge (1) relative to the flange (6), and a rotational assembly is operatively connected to the central shaft (13) for rotating the bridge (1) to selectively align the first vessel cover (2) or the second vessel cover (4) above the flange (6) during the delayed coking process.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides a gas collection apparatus. The present apparatus may be used, for example, in a system for producing biocoal or biochar or bio-oil from biomass. The present gas collection apparatus may be part of a thermochemical biomass reactor. The present gas collection apparatus may be part of a syngas management system. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a gas collection apparatus for fluidly communicating with a retort of a biomass reactor, said collection apparatus comprising two or more gas collection pipes in fluid communication with spaced apart sections of said retort; and a gas collection manifold in fluid communication with said pipes. The gas collection apparatus is designed such that the gases collected by one pipe do not mix with those collected by another within the piping network.
Abstract:
Apparatus for treating materials, the apparatus including a main body which includes an elongated retort section having a primary treatment chamber therein, a feed inlet at an upstream end of the retort section and a discharge outlet at a downstream end of the retort section. The main body further includes a filtering section with a filtering chamber therein which is in communication with the primary treatment chamber, the filtering chamber being disposed laterally with respect to a longitudinal axis of the retort section which extends between the ends of the retort section and is spaced from the upstream end.
Abstract:
An oven door latch system for a coke oven door positionable within an oven door opening and method of sealing a coke oven. The door latch system includes a rotary member rotatively attachable to the oven door. The rotary member has a wedge-shaped, arcuate engagement edge for variably engaging a striker plate on a buck stay member adjacent the oven door opening when the oven door is disposed in the opening of the oven. A tab member is also included on the rotary member. A remotely operated adjustment actuator is provided for engaging the tab member to rotate the rotary member in conjunction with an oven door opening or closing operation. Enhanced oven door sealing is provided by the rotary wedge latch system.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a kiln (100) for use in the production of hydrocarbon fuels from plastics. The kiln (100) comprises a scrubber (200) in fluid communication with a reaction chamber (130), the scrubber (200) being configured to condense hydrocarbons in the reaction chamber gas product stream (501) above a predetermined upper hydrocarbon range for returning to the reaction chamber (130) for further heating in the absence of oxygen. Also disclosed herein is a method of converting waste plastics to a commercially-useful form by way of diesel or the like. The method comprises treating a crude fuel produced from plastics in a pyrolytic process with a first extraction step comprising counterflow liquid-liquid extraction, and a second extraction step comprising counterflow extraction of solvents from the first extraction step.
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein relate to retorts for separating materials or substances ( e.g. , based on volatility thereof) and forming a base or waste material ( e.g ., basic sediment and water, inorganic materials, char, organic waste materials, and other solids) and a target material ( e.g ., shale oil or other oils), contained in feedstock.
