A vertical blind assembly including at least one vertical blind panel, the at least one vertical blind panel including a plurality of partially opaque louvers, and a plurality of sheer transparent or translucent spacers. Each of the plurality of spacers is disposed between a respective pair of the plurality of partially opaque louvers. A substantially opaque auxiliary louver is disposed behind each one of the plurality of partially opaque louvers. A frangible hinge is disposed between each partially opaque louver and an adjacent spacer. A louver hook is attached to a top edge portion of each partially opaque louver, wherein each louver hook hooks over a top edge of a corresponding auxiliary louver.

A louver laminated with a very thin film (i.e. a transfer film, very thin layer, etc) for use in the construction of window blinds such as Venetian blinds, and the like, the louver having opposed top and bottom surfaces, as well as opposed first and second side surfaces each laminated with a very thin film. More particularly, the film is so thin, that the boundary edges of the film, once laminated to a surface of the louver, are imperceptible to human touch, i.e. they are tactilely invisible. An apparatus and method for making a louver laminated with a very thin film is further proposed.

The invention relates to a device for closing a building opening, wherein a planar closure element and/or a frame rigidly attached to the edge of the building opening has a frame profile (1, 29, 39, 43, 72, 77, 90, 94), which by way of two lateral surfaces (4) delimits a profile cavity (2, 74, 78) that is open toward the rebate face, wherein from each of the two lateral surfaces (4), a profile wall (5, 79) projects toward the direction of the respective other lateral surface (4). On said projecting profile walls (5, 79), a metal cover plate (17, 36, 68, 85, 87, 106) and a clamping part (11, 35, 84, 103) are attached such that they are pulled together by screws (16, 24), with the interposition of the profile walls (5, 79). On the two projecting profile walls (5, 79), the clamping part (11, 35, 84, 103) abuts, in each case, both flanks of a groove (6), the opening surface of which is parallel to the connecting surface between the two projecting profile walls (5, 79).

A slat for use in a rolling shutter is provided. The slat comprises a hooking track located at a first edge of a body and a receiving track located at a second edge of the body. Illustratively, the hooking track has a hook-shaped profile, and the receiving track comprises a lip member and a guard member defining a space adapted to receive therein an engaging track of an adjacent slat. The hooking track and the receiving track are designed to minimize the space required for the rolling shutter to be retracted around a spindle.

An articulated hinge is provided which is capable of supporting a panel member and permitting the panel member to be moved away from an opening and at the same time permit the panel member to be rotated approximately 90 degrees. The hinge has a scissor arm mechanism which provides for smooth opening and closing of the hinge thereby eliminating a possible sticking of the hinge during opening.

An inspection trapdoor comprises: a fixed frame (TF), a movable frame (TM), a panel connected to the movable frame (TM), and connection means (5, 6) for connecting the movable frame (TM) to the fixed frame (TF); wherein at least one of said frames (TM, TF) comprises at least three sections (1, 2) with ends (11, 21) cut at 90°, and at least three corner pieces (3, 4), wherein each corner piece connects two adjacent sections (1, 2) in an arrangement wherein they are disposed transversally; the corner piece (3, 4) comprises a central portion (30, 40) suitable for abutting against the ends (11, 21) of two adjacent sections (1, 2) and two lateral inserts (31, 41) that protrude from the central portion (30, 40) in such a way to be coupled with the sections (1, 2); wherein the central portion (30, 40) and the lateral inserts (31, 41) of the corner piece (3, 4) are made in one piece.

The present invention relates to an elongated structure 20 for a window frame 200 suitable for supporting a panel 19 for separating an inner environment from an outer environment. The elongated structure comprises a first crosspiece 21 defining a first abutment surface 211; a second crosspiece 22 defining a second abutment surface 222, parallel to the first abutment surface, and a truss structure 23 which connects the first crosspiece to the second crosspiece. The truss structure comprises rods 230 extending from connection zones 213 of the first crosspiece to connection zones 223 of the second crosspiece; in the elongated structure according to the invention, the rods are tapered.
