Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to more efficiently and effectively search for videos. A video sharing system may receive a video from a user, may extract features from the received video and may store the extract features for the video. Moreover, based on a prespecified re-encoding scheme, the video sharing system re-encodes the received video. For example, the video re-encoding may be performed by generating a set of video segments from video data of the received video such that each video segment is independently playable by a media player. The video sharing platform then stores the re-encoded video including information for each video segment of the set of video segments generated during the re-encoding process of the received video. The re-encoded videos can then be used, in real-time, to dynamically generate search result videos that includes snipes from multiple videos that match a given search query.

Abstract: Methods and systems, including computer programs encoded on a storage medium, are described for implementing item monitoring using a doorbell camera. A system generates an input video stream that has image frames corresponding to detection of activity at a property. Timing information is generated for the video stream and includes a timestamp for each image frame of the stream. Using the timing information, the system processes a pre-event image frame that precedes detection of the activity and a post-event image frame that coincides with detection of the activity. An image score is computed with respect to placement of a candidate item at the property in response to processing the pre-event and post-event image frames. The image score is used to determine that a first item was delivered to the property or that a second item was removed after being delivered to the property.

According to one method, a bitstream is generated at an encoder side or received at a decoder side, where the bitstream corresponds to coded data of current video data in a current layer. The bitstream complies with a bitstream conformance requirement corresponding both the bit depth values for the current layer and the reference layer being the same and the chroma format index values for the current layer and the reference layer being the same. The current video data in the current layer is then encoded or decoded by utilizing reference video data in the reference layer.
