The invention provides a method of estimation milk rennet coagulation properties and methods of generating cattle population, producing milk with modified coagulation properties. Milk with modified coagulation properties produced using the methods and cattle population of the invention has average curd firmness (E30) above 34.75 mm and average coagulation time (R) less than 7.2 min. Invention provides a method of generating a cattle population by assessing firmness of curd and coagulation time at least 3 times during the whole lactation and by using Legendre polynomials estimate the level of these traits within lactation. Individual coagulation curves of E30 and R are obtained and comparing average level with reference level, cows, bull dams and sires (on the basis of their daughters) with desired milk coagulation properties are identified. Invention provides a method of identification of cows; bull dams and sires producing the whole lactation milk with average firmness of curd above 30.43 and below 26.07 mm using κ-casein genotypes.

The invention comprises an animal identification tag. The tag is a plastic sheet preformed into a sspiral shape to form several overlapping spiral layers from one end to the other. The sheet is formed of resilient material whereby the outer spiral layer may be separated from the next adjacent layer along its outer edge so that a cow's tail of conventional size may be slipped between laterally of the length of the tail and the tag may be rotated to slide the tail between the spiral layers until the tail is located inside the innermost spiral layer. The tag has a preformed spiral shape wherein the innermost spiral layer has a diameter when unstraightened that is slightly smaller than the outside diameter of a small cow's tail so that the tag will compress back, after straightening, toward its smaller diameter and thereby snuggly engage the tail of cows of varying sizes to retain the tag on the tail. The tag has indicia along its outermost spiral layer to identify the cow.

When the rotatory bar operates inclinedly, the upper shock-absorbing unit comes in contact with a rotation support to minimize noises. Also, when the rotatory bar operates vertically, the lower shock-absorbing unit comes in contact with the rotation support to minimize noises.

A veterinary tool facilitating sectioning of the pelvic floor of a heifer to remedy dystacia in parturition of a heifer comprises an elongated shank having a hook-shaped section at a forward end and an abutment flange at a rearward end. A slidably impact weight is mounted to the shaft forward of the abutment flange. The hook-shaped section includes a rearwardly facing, angularly projecting knife edge and a forwardly projecting blunt point. A portion of the shank is polygonal in cross-section and extends through a complementary opening within the impact weight. This relationship provides for longitudinal movement of the impact weight along the shank but prevents angular movement of the shank and weight relative to one another facilitating manual angular alignment of the knife edge by turning the weight about the shank axis. The impact weight may be forcibly moved longitudinally along the shank to strike the abutment flange creating a reaction force sufficient to pull the knife edge rearwardly to section the pelvic floor of the heifer and thereby allowing enlargement of the transverse diameter of the pelvic girdle.

Antibiotic-free cow feed and a cow breeding method using the same are provided to promote the growth of cow and to improve the quality and immunity of the cow by mixing barley, barley hulls, rice bran, old pumpkin, radish, bean sprouts' head and water. Antibiotic-free cow feed is prepared by mixing main materials and sub-materials containing amino acid, inorganic pigment, vitamin, antibiotic, enzyme and live-microbial medicine and heating the mixture at 90~110°C for 1~3 hours. The main material comprises 50-200 parts of barley hulls, 50-200 parts of rice bran, 50-200 parts of old pumpkin, 50-200 parts of radish, 50-200 parts of bean sprouts' head and 3000-10000 parts of water. A cow breeding method consists of: breeding newborn calf with mother milk for 4-6 months; supplying grass feed containing general grass/weed, Italian ryegrass, corn N series and feed barley to the cow after mother milk breeding; and providing the antibiotic-free cow feed after the grass feed.

Supply fixed amount of breeding cow TMR which is 7 through 11Kg per one in a day until 22th month, and supply one or more roughage selected from a group consisting of blue color barley, sudangrass, ryegrass and rice straw. Give birth to a calf by supplying a fixed amount of breeding cow TMR about 7 through 13Kg in a day until 24th month. A milk replacer is restrictly supplied 4 liter per one a day and additionally supplies young calf fodder with unrestricted. A Graminease roughage is more than one selected from a group of Italian rye grass, rye, oat, timothy, orchard, and lupin.
