By bending and stretching a link mechanism, both left and right wheels of a vehicle can be inclined toward inside of cornering to generate a camber thrust as a lateral force, i.e. an increase in cornering force. Further, by bending and stretching the link mechanism, the passenger compartment can be inclined in accordance with inclination of a connecting link, and thus the center of gravity of the vehicle can be moved toward its inner wheel during cornering. By preventing lifting of the inner wheel during cornering, cornering performance is improved. Because the passenger compartment is inclined toward the inner wheel during cornering, centrifugal force is less likely to be felt by the occupant.

A nozzle that produces an outlet velocity air, or other fluid jet, is provided with safety passages which achieve the safety requirement of automatically reducing the local exit pressure “dead end” limit to 30 psig or less when the nozzle outlet is partially or completely obstructed. The safety passages do not reduce the effectiveness of the normal function of the air, or other fluid, jet through the provision of a check valve to block undesirable reverse flow in the safety passage(s) thus avoiding ambient fluid flow to the nozzle exit that degrades the nozzle's normal operating air, or other fluid, jet. A magnetic head is held by a side wall through a head fixing fitting so as to freely advance into and retreat from a card sliding groove. First and second head urging levers are swingably supported through a pin. In a standby state, the magnetic head is away from the card travel groove, and card engaging sections of the first and second head urging levers are staying in the card travel groove. When a magnetic card slides in a card sliding direction, the magnetic card makes contact with a card contact section to push the card contact section away from the card travel groove. This causes the first head urging lever to push out the magnetic head into the card travel groove so that the magnetic head makes contact with the magnetic card.

Devices and methods for removal of condensed, blow-by contaminants with small molecular dimensions from the circulating lubricating engine oil of internal combustion engines, including automotive engines, with a positive crankcase ventilation system are disclosed. These condensable blow-by contaminants include water, alcohols and hydrocarbons with preponderantly seven or fewer carbon atoms. A macroporous structure comprising alumino-silicate particles with micro-pores is at least partially immersed in the circulating oil. The micro-pores are sized to adsorb the small, condensed, blow-by, contaminant molecules but not the larger oil molecules. The particles may be multi-layered, with an inner layer adapted for adsorption of polar molecules. Adsorption is most extensive at lower oil temperatures and decreases as the oil temperature increases. Thus at low temperatures the contaminant molecules may be adsorbed, removed from the oil and temporarily stored in the micropores. At high temperatures some of the contaminants will desorb and be re-incorporated in the oil. The desorbed contaminants will be carried with the higher temperature oil into the engine crankcase where they may vaporize and be removed by the engine positive crankcase ventilation system.

A position controller provided in a controlling module obtains a difference between a detected rotation angle of a stylus and a target rotation angle, and determines an energization amount to a voice coil motor so that the difference becomes zero. A variable limiter circuit limits a driving current, which is supplied from the position controller, to a limitation value so that a rotation force applied to the stylus from the voice coil motor is constant. A target rotation angle issuing portion switches over the target rotation angle based on a relative position of a contact portion of the stylus.

The second computer receives the virus scan request from the first computer, reads the written data out of the storage system, and partially executes a virus scan of the read data. After the partial virus scan of the read data is finished, the first computer sends a response to the received write request. After the first computer sends the response, the second computer executes the remainder of the virus scan of the read data.

Techniques for security association management on a home and foreign agent are described. In one embodiment, in response to a first mobile network registration request from a mobile node, a remote authentication facility is accessed to retrieve a security association for the mobile node for authenticating and providing a first network connectivity to the mobile node, wherein the security association is associated with a lifespan. An authentication device that the user wears reads biometrics information and executes individual authentication by verification. Only when the individual authentication has been successfully performed, authentication with an external unit (such as a server) can be started. Then, only when both the individual authentication based on the biometrics information and the mutual authentication between the external unit (such as a server) and the authentication device have been successfully performed, subsequent data processing, such as payment processing, can be executed. Therefore, even if a fraudulent third party uses a stolen authentication device, because the party cannot satisfy the start condition of authentication with the external server or a PC, fraudulent transactions and other illegitimate behaviors are effectively prevented.

Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to determining effective policy when more than one policy may be associated with an entity. In aspects, bindings associate policies with target groups that may include one or more entities. The bindings are ordered by precedence. When properties of two or more policies affect an entity, properties of policies in higher precedence bindings control (e.g., override) properties of policies in lower precedence bindings. When a property of a policy is not included in other policies that affect an entity, the property is retained. A policy resolver determines disjoint target groups and a resultant policy associated with each disjoint target group. The resultant policy associated with a disjoint target group represents a combination of the original policies according to precedence.

For a resource reservation in a distributed resource system, a tentative reservation request and a job reservation request are issued from a job scheduler to a resource management unit. The tentative reservation is valid for a short time period, and cannot coexist with another tentative reservation or the job reservation. In order to actually use resources, a job reservation must be issued after registration of the tentative reservation. If a tentative reservation request is received for a resource to which another tentative reservation request is already accepted, the tentative reservation request is stored in a wait queue, which is successful if the another tentative reservation is cancelled or failed due to the expiration of the validity time period.

A system/method for profiling a sequence of values from a range to determine a frequency of occurrence of a subrange includes, for a current block, determining whether cells of the current block include a count cell or a pointer cell. If the cell includes a pointer cell, follow an address that the pointer makes reference to and designate a new block as the current block and repeat the determining step for the new block. If the cell includes a count cell, increment the count cell and compare the incremented count cell to a threshold. If the count exceeds the threshold, convert the count cell to a pointer cell, which points to a newly allocated block. The newly allocated block is made the current block, and the steps are repeated until count cells do not exceed the threshold or a limit resolution is achieved.
