The Vortex Hydro Turbine takes water through an inlet from the current in which it is submerged. The water inlet reduces the cross-sectional area for the water that flows into the vortex chamber and thus increases the velocity of the water into a specially designed cylindrical chamber. The top of the chamber is specifically left open allowing the water now traveling at an increased velocity to disperse toward outlet as it rotates around the chamber, and then reintegrate into the existing environmental regime. This expansion creates a low pressure area in the center of the vortex chamber that is applied to the back side of a turbine blade system either directly or through a connecting tube depending on configuration.

A visor assembly for an aviation helmet includes a lens, lens/strap anti-tear interface assemblies, retainer plates, and attachment strap assemblies. A friction strip mounted on the brim of the helmet operates to increase the friction between the visor lens and the helmet. The combined function of the friction strip and the configuration of the strap assemblies operate to maintain the visor in a deployed (as-worn) positioned in front of the wearer's face, even during high speed wind blasts of up to 600 KEAS (Knots Equivalent Air Speed).

A method for protecting a CAP file including one or more applets to be installed in an IC Card, includes the applets encoding into the CAP file by a CAP file provider. The method also includes the CAP file downloading into the IC Card by a CAP file issuer, and storing an installation program inside the IC Card. The installation program extracts the applets from the CAP file and installs them in the IC Card, after the downloading. The CAP file provider encrypts the CAP file into a protected CAP file to avoid the applets being extracted before the downloading. The IC Card includes a decryption circuit for decrypting the protected CAP file downloaded into the IC Card. The installation of the applet is enabled by the decryption circuit.
