A system and method is presented that leverages independent innovation in entertainment content and graphics hardware. In this system and method, the current image generation run-time application is replaced with a new framework defining the connectivity, features, and behavior necessary to implement a graphics system. All this takes place in the context of a software platform utilizing a late-integration mechanism that dynamically integrates the various real-time components in a run-time application. Ultimately displacing hardware as the central focus of development efforts, this software platform functionally is the graphics application, at least as viewed by the simulation host computer, database developers, and those responsible for visual system procurement and maintenance. An innovative software architecture, the Graphical Application Platform (GAP) is presented. The GAP builds on image generator, workstation, and scene graph success by extending the concepts of platform and framework into the real-time graphics domain—bridging the gap between image generation concerns and contemporary hardware and software realities by decoupling content, hardware and applications. This new approach also provides technology to address emerging concerns related to the selection and acquisition processes in the context of new low-cost, high-performance graphics hardware.

The changes made to the code by individual programmers may be kept, such that the degree to which their coding enhanced or harmed modularization may be tracked.
A method of electron-beam lithography is provided, notably for technologies of critical dimension of the order of 22 nm. In such methods applied notably to networks of lines, the methods of the prior art do not offer precise and efficient correction of the shortenings of line ends. The method provided solves this problem by carrying out the insertion of contrast intensification structures of types which are optimized for the structure of the lines to be corrected. The method allows the semi-automatic or automatic calculation of the dimensions and locations of said structures. Advantageously, these calculations may be modeled to produce a target design, derived from libraries of components. They may be supplemented with a joint optimization of the size of the etchings and of the radiated doses, as a function of the process energy latitude.
A data processing system determines current information corresponding to a node included at a device design. Physical layout information corresponding to the node is received, the physical layout information including one or more layout geometries, the one or more layout geometries providing a circuit network. The circuit network may be partitioned into two or more network segments. A current conducted at a network segment is identified based on the current information. Information representative of dimensions and metal layer of a layout geometry included at the network segment is received. The computer determines that the current exceeds a predetermined maximum threshold, the predetermined maximum threshold determined based on the dimensions and metal layer.
Roughly described, a design rule data set is developed offline from the design rules of a target fabrication process. A design rule checking method involves traversing the corners of shapes in a layout region, and for each corner, populating a layout topology database with values that depend on respective corner locations. After the layout topology database is populated, the values are compared to values in the design rule data set to detect any design rule violations. Violations can be reported in real time, while the user is manually editing the layout. Preferably corner traversal is performed using scan lines oriented perpendicularly to edge orientations, and scanning in the direction of the edge orientations. Scans stop only at corner positions and populate the layout topology database with what information can be gleaned based on the current scan line. The different scans need not reach each corner simultaneously.

Embodiments of the present invention provide automatic systems and methods for associating objects in databases of a web site by rate-based tagging. The frequencies of users entering specific tag terms for objects stored in the databases of the web site are used to determine hard associations between objects and tag terms and between objects. When the frequencies of user tags exceed established thresholds, hard associations between objects and tag terms are established. When objects are identified or determined to have hard association with tag terms, the objects are determined to be more clearly associated with the corresponding tag terms. Therefore, they should be highlighted or featured in more prominent locations on web pages of the web site to increase users' confidence in content of the web site. To identify hard-associated objects, more weights can be assigned to the hard-associated objects, which allows them to be more likely to be selected for display in prominent locations. In addition, objects that are determined to have hard associations with tag terms can also have hard associations with one another due to the common tag terms they share. The hard association relationship between objects can be displayed through links to associated objects when an object is selected for display.

Systems/methods for computing a power spectral density estimate for a noise signal. Where the noise signal appears in two channels (a single channel), n successive data acquisitions from the two channels (the single channel) are used to compute n respective cross (power) spectral densities, which are then averaged. The averaged cross (power) spectral density may then be smoothed in the spectral domain. The magnitude of the smoothed cross (power) spectral density comprises an estimate for the noise power spectral density. An effective number of independent averages may be computed based on the number n, the time-domain window applied to the acquired sample sets, the amount of overlap between successive sample sets, and the shape of the frequency-domain smoothing function. A statistical error bound (or uncertainty measure) may be determined for the power spectral density estimate based on the effective number of averages and the averaged single-channel and cross-channel spectral estimates.

Such disbursement, moreover, can be governed according to various heuristics, including the trustworthiness of claimants and rules regarding maximum disbursement amounts.
The present invention relates to a method for modeling a common-language speech recognition, by a computer, under the influence of multiple dialects and concerns a technical field of speech recognition by a computer. In this method, a triphone standard common-language model is first generated based on training data of standard common language, and first and second monophone dialectal-accented common-language models are based on development data of dialectal-accented common languages of first kind and second kind, respectively. Then a temporary merged model is obtained in a manner that the first dialectal-accented common-language model is merged into the standard common-language model according to a first confusion matrix obtained by recognizing the development data of first dialectal-accented common language using the standard common-language model. Finally, a recognition model is obtained in a manner that the second dialectal-accented common-language model is merged into the temporary merged model according to a second confusion matrix generated by recognizing the development data of second dialectal-accented common language by the temporary merged model. This method effectively enhances the operating efficiency and admittedly raises the recognition rate for the dialectal-accented common language. The recognition rate for the standard common language is also raised.
A scalable encoding apparatus, a scalable decoding apparatus and the like are disclosed which can achieve a band scalable LSP encoding that exhibits both a high quantization efficiency and a high performance. In these apparatuses, a narrow band-to-wide band converter receives and converts a quantized narrow band LSP to a wide band, and then outputs the quantized narrow band LSP as converted (i.e., a converted wide band LSP parameter) to an LSP-to-LPC converter. The LSP-to-LPC converter converts the quantized narrow band LSP as converted to a linear prediction coefficient and then outputs it to a pre-emphasizer. The pre-emphasizer calculates and outputs the pre-emphasized linear prediction coefficient to an LPC-to-LSP converter. The LPC-to-LSP converter converts the pre-emphasized linear prediction coefficient to a pre-emphasized quantized narrow band LSP as wide band converted, and then outputs it to a prediction quantizer.

Aspects of the invention relate generally to enforcing elements of the OpenGL ES specification. More specifically, regardless of whether or not the underlying API system would allow NPOT textures, the systems and methods herein may disallow them. As a result, objects bound with these textures may be considered errors, non-renderable, and rendered in black. In order to accomplish this, various functions may be tracked to determine whether an NPOT texture that uses mips is being bound to an object, and if so, treat the condition as an error and bind (then draw) the object with a black texture.
An integrated memory controller (IMC) may sit on the main CPU bus or a high speed system peripheral bus and couple to system memory. The IMC may use a lossless data compression and decompression scheme for improved performance. The IMC may also include microcode for specific decompression of particular data formats such as digital video and digital audio. Compressed data may be decompressed in the IMC and stored into system memory or saved in the system memory in compressed format. Internal memory mapping may allow for format definition spaces which may define the format of the data and the data type to be read or written. Software overrides may be placed in applications software in systems that desire to control data decompression at the software application level.
