Metadata that is published in connection with corresponding content can be configured to include tags or other identifiers that cause a content management system to selectively direct content processing between existing and new components. Switches implemented by the content management system can operate to examine the metadata to determine which processing components are selected for particular content and direct the content to corresponding components. Switches can also be placed in websites to direct page requests from clients to existing or new rendering controls based upon publishable metadata that is associated with a requested page. Thus, the metadata and switches can be employed to perform testing of and load balancing between new and existing components in a live environment.

A voltage regulation circuit and method where a pre-charge device (PCD) and a power gate device (PGD) are connected to a voltage line that supplies power to at least one additional device. The PCD pre-charges the line toward a supply voltage (Vdd) and PGD limits voltage changes on the voltage line caused by leakage current in the additional device(s) and does so differently under different leakage conditions. Specifically, the PGD is controlled by a variable reference voltage (Vref), which is closer to Vdd when a leakage condition is low relative to when the leakage condition is high. Since Vref is relatively high when the leakage condition is low and relatively low when the leakage condition is high, the power gate device will turn on after a smaller amount of voltage change on the voltage line when the leakage condition is low as compared to when the leakage condition is high.

The present invention provides systems, articles, and methods for discriminating electromagnetic radiation based upon the angle of incidence of the electromagnetic radiation. In some cases, the materials and systems described herein can be capable of inhibiting reflection of electromagnetic radiation (e.g., the materials and systems can be capable of transmitting and/or absorbing electromagnetic radiation) within a given range of angles of incidence at a first incident surface, while substantially reflecting electromagnetic radiation outside the range of angles of incidence at a second incident surface (which can be the same as or different from the first incident surface). A photonic material comprising a plurality of periodically occurring separate domains can be used, in some cases, to selectively transmit and/or selectively absorb one portion of incoming electromagnetic radiation while reflecting another portion of incoming electromagnetic radiation, based upon the angle of incidence. In some embodiments, one domain of the photonic material can include an isotropic dielectric function, while another domain of the photonic material can include an anisotropic dielectric function. In some instances, one domain of the photonic material can include an isotropic magnetic permeability, while another domain of the photonic material can include an anisotropic magnetic permeability. In some embodiments, non-photonic materials (e.g., materials with relatively large scale features) can be used to selectively absorb incoming electromagnetic radiation based on angle of incidence.

An unchecked signal detection mechanism runs simulation tests of circuit designs that normally pass. Before a simulation test is run, noise is injected into one randomly chosen signal. A random constant value is assigned to the randomly chosen signal. The constant random value is forced on the selected signal for the duration of the simulation test. Signals for which simulation tests always pass, even when their value is forced, are likely not checked and declared as suspect. The subset of suspect signals is then checked to determine whether their checkers are indeed missing or defective. Any verification flaws (holes) found are then fixed.

Methods and devices are presented that allow the harvest of electricity, heat and lighting simultaneously from a solar converter, often at less cost than conventional solar collectors. The converters use slats to intercept sunlight. Slat surfaces in the direct light path may be coated with photovoltaic (PV) material, or may be shaped to concentrate sunlight, allowing less PV material to capture reflected, concentrated light for improved economics. Forcing air flow past enclosed slats let the slats operate as PV heat sinks, heat absorbers, and heat exchangers capturing much of the solar energy that is not converted to electricity, as heat. Embodiments also allow passage of indirect light to supplement interior artificial lighting, often with positive aesthetic effects. These slatted apertures mitigate glare and overheating problems associated with typical skylights and some windows, allowing wider use as architectural elements. The devices also can be integrated into new building construction, and serve a dual purpose as building structural components.

The invention is a novel offset conduit body that has T-type, L-type and X-type conduit body variants. The T-style conduit body has an offset port the axis of which is perpendicular to the co-linear axis of the other two ports, but the axis of the offset port does not lie in a common plane with the axis of the other two ports, and this offset eliminates the need for bending conduit connected to the offset port in order for that conduit to pass over or under different conduit that is adjacent to the T-style conduit body and is parallel to the conduit connected to the other two ports. The L-style conduit body has a first and an offset port oriented at right angles to each other and the axis of the two ports are offset from each other so they do not lie in a common plane, and the offset eliminates the need for bending conduit connected to the offset port in order for that conduit to pass over or under adjacent conduit that is parallel to the conduit connected to the first port. A control device includes a PWM control unit that executes PWM control over an alternating-current motor mounted on a vehicle. The PWM control unit includes an alarm sound generation processing unit and a slip determination unit. The slip determination unit determines whether a drive wheel coupled to the alternating-current motor is slipping on the basis. of a d-axis current (Id), a q-axis current (Iq), a d-axis voltage command value (Vd) and a q-axis voltage command value (Vq) of the alternating-current motor. When the drive wheel is not slipping, the alarm sound generation processing unit generates an alarm sound from the alternating-current motor by adding a variation value (ΔV) to the d-axis voltage command value (Vd) at a predetermined interval. When the drive wheel is slipping, the alarm sound generation processing unit temporarily stops adding the variation value (ΔV) to the d-axis voltage command value (Vd).

An exhaust gas aftertreatment installment and associated exhaust gas aftertreatment method utilizes a nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter and an SCR catalytic converter. A particulate filter is provided upstream of the nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter or between the latter and the SCR catalytic converter or downstream of the SCR catalytic converter. The time of regeneration operating phases of the nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter can be determined as a function of the nitrogen oxide content of the exhaust gas downstream of the nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converter or of the SCR catalytic converter and/or as a function of the ammonia loading of the latter. Moreover, a desired ammonia generation quantity can be determined for a respective regeneration operating phase. The installation and method are adopted for use for motor vehicle internal combustion engines and other engines which are operated predominantly in lean-burn mode.
