Local PE Imem fetch, decode, and execute logic are associated with each PE. Instruction path selection logic in each PE is used to select between control processor distributed instructions and local PE instructions fetched from the local PE Imem. Each PE is also initialized to receive control processor distributed instructions. In addition, local hold generation logic is associated with each PE. A PE receiving a Tstart instruction causes the instruction path selection logic to switch to fetch local PE Imem instructions.

Trustworthy systems require that code be validated as genuine. Most systems implement this requirement prior to execution by matching a cryptographic hash of the binary file against a reference hash value, leaving the code vulnerable to run time compromises, such as code injection, return and jump-oriented programming, and illegal linking of the code to compromised library functions. The Run-time Execution Validator (REV) validates, as the program executes, the control flow path and instructions executed along the control flow path. REV uses a signature cache integrated into the processor pipeline to perform live validation of executions, at basic block boundaries, and ensures that changes to the program state are not made by the instructions within a basic block until the control flow path into the basic block and the instructions within the basic block are both validated.

An execution framework allows developers to write sequential computational logic, constrained for the runtime system to efficiently parallelize execution of custom business logic. The framework can be leveraged to overcome limitations in executing low level procedural code, by empowering the system runtime environment to parallelize this code. Embodiments employ algorithmic skeletons in the realm of optimizing/executing data flow graphs of database management systems. By providing an extensible set of algorithmic skeletons the developer of custom logic can select the skeleton appropriate for new custom logic, and then fill in the corresponding computation logic according to the structural template of the skeleton. The skeleton provides a set of constraints known to the execution environment, that can be leveraged by the optimizer and the execution environment to generate parallel optimized execution plans containing custom logic, without the developer having to explicitly describe parallelization of the logic.

A solution for auto-completing words being input to a computer is proposed. For this purpose, a user starts inputting a prefix of a target word; the computer tries predicting the target word that is desired, and it completes the prefix automatically (without the need of inputting the entire target word). In the proposed solution, the user also inputs an indication of the length of the target word. In this way, the computer can restrict the words being eligible to complete the prefix (i.e., including it) only to the ones having the desired length. This allows solving any ambiguity with shorter prefixes.

An image formation apparatus includes: an image data processor to generate page data representing images to be printed on a page basis based on print data; a print work execution unit to form images for two pages on both faces of each recording media based on the page data upon two-sided printing; and a charge information generator to generate charge information according to the image formation executed by the print work execution unit. The image data processor generates, where the number of pages of the images represented by the print data is an odd number upon the two-sided printing, edited image data for an even number of pages including a blank page with a blank image which does not correspond to the print data as the page data. The charge information generator generates the charge information without the blank page being set as a charge item.

An image forming apparatus includes a charging roller including elastic and surface layers and a photoconductor drum. Initially, the surface layer has a surface roughness Rz of 3-6 μm, and the layers have an impedance ratio of 0.81 or less in absolute value at a frequency of 800-3000 Hz. After a predetermined time, the surface roughness Rz is reduced by a decrement ΔRz of 0.1-4 μm. The drum has a film thickness D initially ranging from 20-40 μm and reduced by a decrement ΔD of 5-25 μm after the predetermined time. Herein, 0.005≦ΔRz/ΔD≦0.8 holds. The impedance ratio is represented as ZE/(ZE+ZS) wherein ZE and ZS represent the respective impedances of the elastic layer and the surface layer, and 100k A4-size recording media recorded with images with an area coverage of 7% are printed in the predetermined time.

Electrostatic image graduations inclined by a first angle in a main scanning direction are formed on a photosensitive drum and transferred to an intermediate transfer belt, and electrostatic image graduations inclined by a second angle in the main scanning direction are formed on the photosensitive drum and transferred to the intermediate transfer belt so as to overlap with the electrostatic image graduations inclined by the first angle. The electrostatic image graduations inclined by the first angle are detected by a conducting wire having a linear conductive member inclined by the first angle in the main scanning direction of the intermediate transfer belt. The electrostatic image graduations inclined by the second angle are detected by a conducting wire having a linear conductive member inclined by the second angle in the main scanning direction of the intermediate transfer belt.

An image forming apparatus capable of reducing fluctuations in the rotational speed of an image carrier caused by harmonic noise. A surface of the image carrier is charged with electricity. An exposure unit forms an electrostatic latent image by exposing on the charged surface of the image carrier to light. A rotational drive unit rotates the image carrier. A first detecting unit detects a rotational speed of the image carrier. A second detecting unit detects a home position of the image carrier. An exposure control unit controls timing with which the exposure unit exposes the image carrier to light based on the rotational speed of the image carrier detected by the first detecting unit and the home position detected by the second detecting unit.
