This application describes a flow cell to perform experiments under well-controlled hydrodynamic conditions. The resulting cell enables combining the advantages of in-situ spectroscopic ellipsometry with stagnation point flow conditions. An additional advantage is that the proposed cell features a fixed position of the “inlet conduit” with respect to the substrate, thus facilitating the alignment of multiple substrates. Additionally, a simple methodology to correct experimental data for errors associated with the size of the measured spot and for variations of mass transfer in the vicinity of the stagnation point is herein introduced. The proposed correction method would allow researchers to reasonably estimate the adsorption kinetics at the stagnation point and quantitatively compare their results, even when using different experimental setups. The applicability of the proposed correction function was verified by evaluating the kinetics of protein adsorption under different experimental conditions.

In a conventional stringed musical instrument the nut, the bridge and the fingerboard are either all radius or all flat. Bowed instruments such as cellos and violins require radius structures so that single note melodies can be played on the middle strings. But for some players the radius fingerboards are a bit harder while playing melodies. Classical and flamenco guitars have flat nut, bridge and fingerboards for ease of plucking and strumming the strings close to the bridge. However, flat fingerboards are harder to bar for playing cords. [Delete paragraph mark and indent] Combinations of flat nut with radius bridge and radius nut with flat bridge can be used if the fingerboard surface is changed to have a specific 3-dimensional curvature and may be preferred for their playability by some players.

A work string tool to be operably associated with a weight-set packer tool uses pressure applied by fluid circulated from the surface above the weight-set packer, to deploy a hydraulic hold-down anchor mechanism above the packer to reduce the risk of unsetting during a high pressure “positive” wellbore integrity test. An axial bore of a tool tubular body houses first and second inner sleeves, and is configured to accommodate independent axial movement of the sleeves to provide multiple fluid flowpath configurations through the tool which allow use of circulation fluid pressure to circulate a ball obturator to a valve seat in a sleeve when a configuration change is required to deploy or release the anchor mechanism.

The sleeve can also be shifted in an uphole direction with an anchor that grabs near the sleeve and a latch key that grabs the sleeve and is configured to retain grip as a motor moves the latch key uphole. Power can come from a wireline or can be locally provided if using slickline. The seal or extending member is retractable for tool removal or relocation.

The riser system of the present invention includes an external production riser for floating structures with interfaces to the dry and subsea wellheads, internal tieback riser with a special lower overshot/slipping connector for elevated temperatures. The seals can be metallic and/or non-metallic dynamic seals. Special centralizing pipe connectors and a special subsea wellhead tubing hanger are also included. This riser system avoids the penalty of pipe within pipe differential thermal growth and the resulting unwanted effects on the floating structure. This is accomplished by allowing an overshot sealing slipping connector to swallow an expanding polished rod as thermal conditions cause pipe elongation axially. When elevated temperatures fall to ambient the opposite occurs as the pipe shrinks axially. Alternatively, a system is possible where a two pipe drilling riser is needed. The internal pipe in this case would be an inner riser rather than a tubing string.
