A controller performs multiple regression analysis using an optimum chemical injection rate as a target variable and using one or more water quality indices of a raw water as explanatory variables and thereby derives a calculation formula for a basic chemical injection rate corresponding to the water quality indices. Next, the controller calculates the basic chemical injection rate corresponding to the water quality indices by substituting the measured values of the water quality indices of the raw water into the calculation formula. Then, the controller corrects the basic chemical injection rate based on a measured value of the water quality index of the treated water, thereby newly calculates a chemical injection rate, and outputs the newly calculated chemical injection rate as a control factor for a chemical injection pump while supplying the newly calculated chemical injection rate to calculation of the optimum chemical injection rate.

In a method of processing data in a communication device operating in a heterogeneous communication network, data is transferred between a first communication interface within the communication device and an upper protocol layer via a first abstraction layer (AL) processing unit. The first AL processing unit is dedicated to the first communication interface. Additionally, data is transferred between the first AL processing unit and a second AL processing unit within the communication device via an interface between the first AL processing unit and the second AL processing unit. The first AL processing unit is dedicated to a second communication interface within the communication device.

Control of transitions between radio resource control, RRC, states for a wireless terminal in a radio access network is described. The radio resource control states comprise a first state and a second state. A calculation (702) is made of a prediction of an inter-arrival time, ITB, between data bursts to be handled. A detection (704) that a data burst is to be handled is done and then it is decided (706) whether to make a transition from the first state to the second state essentially immediately and upon termination of handling of the detected data burst if the prediction of the ITB is greater than a current ITB threshold. The current ITB threshold is a time interval that is depending on a function of RRC state transition costs and the fractional distribution of true predictions and false predictions of a plurality of predicted ITB values in relation to recorded ITB values. Then, in accordance with the decision, the wireless terminal is directed (708) either to remain in the first state or switch to the second state.

A wireless access point includes a wireless interface to send or receive frames in a cell in a wireless network. A storage device stores a cell ID that uniquely identifies the wireless access point. Processing circuitry inserts the cell ID in a physical layer header of a frame, and sends the frame to a client device in the cell via the wireless interface.

Method and apparatus for performing hybrid per station and per flow/connection uplink allocations are described. The apparatus may implement a hybrid per flow/connection and per station uplink (UL) resource allocation to improve UL control efficiency and UL resource utilization. The apparatus may be configured to transmit or receive a resource allocation in a signal that contains an indicator that indicates intended flow information.

A radio station (1) includes a first part (1A) and at least one second part (1B). The second part (1B) can be arranged so as to be physically separated from the first part (1A) and is connected to the first part (1A) via a transmission line (40) so as to be able to communicate with the first part (1A). The first part (1A) includes a bearer termination unit (10) capable of terminating at least one bearer between an upper network and the radio station (1). The second part (1B) includes a physical layer signal processing unit (12) that performs physical layer signal processing. The physical layer signal processing includes channel coding and decoding for user data pertaining to a first mobile station connected to the second part (1B) among a plurality of mobile stations.

Embodiments described herein provide for a four-channel Wireless Data Concentrator (WDC) for a data network of an aircraft. One embodiment of a WDC includes a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), and a controller. The controller is electrically coupled to a top surface of the PCB and is proximate to a centerline of the PCB. The WDC further includes four Radio Frequency (RF) transceivers electrically coupled to the top surface of the PCB that are disposed orthogonally to each other around the controller. Each RF transceiver communicates with at least one wireless sensor that measures an environment of the aircraft. The WDC further includes four inverted-F PCB trace antennas fabricated along the top surface of the PCB. Each inverted-F PCB trace antenna is electrically coupled to one of the RF transceivers and is disposed orthogonally to each other around the controller.
